I offered to help his family feed their dog, Lucy, when they're not around. Simon handed me his spare house key, some instructions and such. I could see that Simon loves his dog very very much, to the extent he wanted to take Lucy with him on the trip. A backpack was loosely slung on his shoulder whilst both his hands were occupied by bags. His parents were loading the car boot with their luggage as Simon stopped to talk to me. "Sucks that you have go at this time." I punched his shoulder lightly as he gave me a faint smile.  "I'll try to come back sooner, I promise."  I don't know why I'm being soppy over him. He's just off for a week, not forever. I guess it's just the first time I actually felt the need to care about someone. He waved me off before stepping into the car. The car engine ignited, and soon enough, I saw the car drive further away from where I'm standing. I was starting to miss Simon.  I stuffed the house keys into my pocket and gave Simon's dog a pat in the head before going home. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow, doggo." Lucy's a cute dog. I think I know where she got it from.
