Alpha Kristen’s POV.
I met Shantel in the lobby but she was on a call when I arrived. I stood quietly and waited for her to finish her call.
“Everything is under control!” She gritted into the phone.
Her back was facing me so she had no idea I was standing behind her.
“Of course, you won’t trust me. I know what I’m doing.”
She hung up the phone and turned around. She jumped a bit when she saw me standing behind her.
“Is everything okay?” I asked.
“Yes, everything is fine.” She smiled. “How long have you been standing there?”
“I just arrived. Why?”
“Nothing. Just wondering if I was holding you up.”
“You weren’t.”
“Okay. Shall we?” She gestured to the door.
“Sure.”
I took her hand in mine as we exited the building. I might not like her but at least I was a gentleman. We walked
