Alpha Kristen’s POV.
I locked eyes with Bruce from across the room and it felt as though time had stopped. He was trying to control his rage because I saw his body jerk at one point but he clenched his fists together, stiffening his body.
“You brought that girl here?” He snarled.
“Bruce, chill. You-.”
“CHILL?!” He shouted and a few files on the shelf fell.
“Woah! Watch your tone.” I said, standing up from my seat and stepping away from my desk.
“Kristen, you don’t seem to realize what you’ve done.”
Bruce spoke so calmly that it irked me and I would have very much preferred the shouting.
“You can increase your voice.”
“You think this is a f*****g joke?!”
“I’m not laughing.”
“Did you or did you not bring that darn girl here?”
