"What do you mean by she's missing?" Uriah asked from behind us.
We all turned around and went back inside the room, Anne shut the door behind her.
"The maids said that the last time they saw her was yesterday night." Anne said.
"That thief!" Beatrice said venomously. "She better return my child."
She attempted to get up from the bed as though she was going to look for Amelia herself but Uriah held her down.
"Calm down baby. We don't know for sure that it's her yet."
Something told me that the moment he set his eyes on Amelia he would rip her head from her neck but he was just trying to stay calm. At least for Beatrice.
