A trip down memory lane

Chapter 5

Raven pov:

As I step outside, I can finally breathe in fresh air. Lola friends are assholes, they're not my type of people. I'm just going to try and stay away from them as much as I possibly can.

The only problem is that they're friends with Lola, so I'm going to see them even more.

A couple more minutes go by and I hear a deep and soothing voice cone from behind me

"What are you thinking about Ravèn? " I turn around to see the asshole himself

"Why are you here hunter?" I ask him

"You were gone for a long time I was wondering what happened to you," he says

Oh so now you care about me?" I ask him

"Of course not I just didn't want you to get r***d or kidn*pped and have a crime scene where I live." He says

"You live here? In a frat house? Wow"

"Yeah, the twins also live here and a few other boys. They like to throw slot of parties, there's probably going to be another one on the weekends" he says and I just nod.

There's an awkward moment of silence before he asks me "so why don't you drink" I already told them egg is he asking me again?

"I already told you, I just don't want to"

"I don't believe you"

"Believe what you like hunter, I don't care"

"Your hiding something"

"No, I'm not"

"Yeah you are I can see it in your eyes," he says as he brushes the back of his finger on my face

I don't know what it is but I'm actually tempted but I quickly start thinking straight. I grab his hand and push it away and say "you don't know a thing about me. Stay away from me" then I turn around and go back inside the house.

"Who does he think he is thinking he knows me," I say quietly to myself

I enter the kitchen and end up at the table. I see a bottle of alcohol on it and I want to drink it so much but I know I can't. I pick it up with my right hand

"Why do you have such an effect on me, I want you so bad but I can't st the same" I look crazy talking to a bottle of Hennessey V.S

"Ravèn?" I hear. I jump at the voice st put the bottle back on the table and turn around. What I didn't expect to see was my best friend Keisha. We've known each other since preschool and We were both cheerleaders in high school.

"Keisha," I say in shock

"What are you doing here?' She asks as she runs up to me and hugs me

I go to school here what about you I answer and ask

"No way I go to school here to," she says

You have got to be kidding me I didn't know she was coming here. What if she tells everyone about me and what happened in high school. I've worked too hard to leave everything in the past behind me she can't ruin this. Maybe she won't she is my best friend after all. Are we even still best friends?

How is everything? she ask

"Everything is fine. How about you? I'm actually very surprised to see you here" I say

"Everything is fine. I know I wasn't planning to at first but my parents 'suggested' it to me" she says and by suggested she means they forced her.

That the thing about our parents they basically control our lives. Her parents want her to be exactly like them and my mum's life didn't turn out how she wanted so she's trying to make my life how she wanted hers to be.

It makes me so mad but I understand. Also, by focusing on me, it takes her mind off of my dad and how we watched him die right in front of us.

"Same for me," I say to her and she nods

"I'm actually surprised to see you here," she says

"What at this university?" I ask

"No at this party, to be honest, I thought you would never go to one after what happened," she says and she's right. The only reason why I came is because Lola wouldn't stop begging me

"My roommate wouldn't let me stay in the dorm she kept on saying please until I said yes," I tell her

"What about you? Who did you come with?" I ask her

"I came with my roommate as well." She says

"Cool," I say back

"Hey, do you want to meet her?"

"Yeah sure, my roommate is just shitfaced and you're the only other person here that I know"

She leads me through a bunch of people and reach the other side of the house where this girl with vibrant red hair and green eyes stands

"Ravén this is Rebecca, Rebecca this is Raven," Keisha says

Nice to meet you I say to her

"You too," she says back

Ravèn here, is my best friend from high school she says with her hands on my shoulders.

Oh, did you two plan to come here together? She asks

"No Ravèn here had to leave school on the last month, its a total coincidence," Keisha says

"Where did you go," she asks and I couldn't tell her I went to rehab

"My mum and I went on an early holiday"  I lie to her

"Your lucky, my parents would never let me leave school early," Rebecca says.

'Neither would mine' I think to myself

Keisha is just looking at me in pity because she knows the real reason why I left early, in fact, my whole school does. I couldn't even go to my graduation.

"What's your roommate like?" Keisha asks to change the subject, and I thank get for that

"She's okay u guess, like I said before she the only other person here that I know"

"Didn't she introduce you to her friends?" She asks

"Yeah she did, but they're u know," I say trying to find the right word to describe them

"Yeah I know," she says. That's what I like about Keisha she gets me.

"It's not that I don't like them, will I do but I don't hate them it's just they're covered in piercing and tattoos"

"What your saying reminds me of my sister and her friends," Rebecca says

"Really? what's your sisters name?" I ask

"Her name Lorelai," she says

"Lorelai? Where have I hear that name?" I ask

"Wait a minute does she have a nose piercing and pink and the ends of her hair?"

"Yeah that's her," she says

"But you guys look nothing alike," I say

"Yeah we know, she looks like our dad and I look like our mom," she says

Wow I would have never guessed that. Rebecca seems so sweet and Lorelai isn't.
