Dear Reader,
If you’re here, thank you. Truly.
_Black Petals_ started with one question: What if the things we call “bad luck” are just… rare?
Vesper grows black roses in a town that only wants white ones. She’s been told her whole life that she’s too quiet, too dark, too much. So she hid. She made herself small. I think a lot of us do that.
Elias came to collect art. Perfect, expensive, loud art. But he found a girl with dirt under her nails who didn’t ask to be collected. She just existed. Honestly. And that terrified him more than anything perfect ever could.
This is a slow burn. There will be rain. There will be silence. There will be moments where nothing happens… except two people learning how to be safe with each other.
I didn’t write this to give you a fairytale. I wrote this for the ones who feel like they bloom in the dark. For the ones who think love has to be bright to be real. It doesn’t. Sometimes love looks like someone sitting with you in a cold greenhouse at 3AM, not saying anything at all.
Vesper isn’t broken and waiting to be fixed. She’s whole. She just forgot.
Elias isn’t a savior. He’s just a man who chose truth over pretty.
To anyone reading this who feels overlooked: You are not trash because you’re not for everyone. You are rare because you’re real.
Please be gentle with Vesper. She grows slowly.
Please be patient with Elias. He loves quietly.
And please be kind to yourself. You deserve a love that doesn’t ask you to be white when you were made black.
Thank you for letting me tell you this story.
Let’s bloom in the dark together.
With all my heart,
*Miss E* 🌑🌸
