Chapter 22 — Saarya, the First Lotus Awakens

1205 Words
The chamber of the Celestial Lotus Hearttrembled as the ancient petals glowed around Radhika, Meera, and Aarav. Outside, Ashvar held back the storm of Upper Realm assassins—his aura blazing with barely contained fury. Inside, the air ripened with awakening. A soft chime filled the air. Then another. And another—like countless temple bells ringing across time. The lotus light above Radhika unfolded one radiant petal. Another. Then a human-shaped glow stepped out of the heart of it. A woman materialized—young, ageless, and breathtaking, with eyes the color of dawn. Her hair floated like strands of liquid gold. Her presence pressed into the soul, making Radhika’s breath tremble. “Radhika…” Her voice traveled through blood and bone. “My child.” Radhika froze. “This can’t… Mother?” Her voice cracked—pain, longing, disbelief, all tangled. The woman smiled with a tenderness that shattered heaven. “I am Saarya,” she said, stepping forward. “The First Lotus. The one whose lineage you bear. And yes… your mother in this lifetime.” Radhika’s knees nearly gave way. Meera clung to Radhika’s hand; Aarav stepped forward, his small fists clenched. “Are you here to hurt Mama?” he demanded, voice trembling but fierce. Saarya knelt to his height. “No, child. I come to protect what is mine.” Her fingers brushed his cheek—light, warm, ancient. Then she stood, gaze settling on Radhika again. “You were not born ordinary,” Saarya began. “You were born because the Upper World feared the Lotus Line ending. I sent you to the Lower World, hiding my aura within you so that the celestial predators would never find you.” Radhika’s pulse thundered. “My entire life,” she whispered, “I thought you abandoned me.” Saarya’s eyes flickered with sorrow. “I tore my soul to send you here. I bled away millennia of power. All so you could *live*. Not as a weapon of the Upper World… but as a girl who could choose her own fate.” The chamber dimmed around them. Radhika’s throat tightened. Why… why was this harder than any battle? Why was the truth so heavy? Meera tugged Radhika’s sleeve. “Mama… are we also Lotus like her?” Saarya turned. “You, little ones, are **Lotus-Born**, but different. You carry something unique… something I cannot predict.” Aarav’s eyes glowed faintly gold. Meera’s shimmered silver. Twin lights that mirrored Saarya—and Ashvar. Saarya paused. “There is… *another imprint* inside them,” she murmured, confused. Radhika stiffened. “Imprint?” Saarya touched her forehead softly. “I sense the aura of the man who marked you with fate… the one who shares power with them.” Radhika’s heartbeat stopped. Ashvar. No… It couldn’t— But it made sense. The shared blood resonance. The way the children reacted to Ashvar’s presence. How Ashvar’s own aura destabilized whenever he neared them. Radhika backed away, shaking her head, refusing— Saarya’s gaze softened with knowing. “Do not fear truth, child. It only grows sharper when you run.” Thunder cracked. Ashvar collapsed to one knee, spear in hand, black divine blood dripping down his arm. He fought like a beast cornered, killing three Upper Realm sentinels in one stroke, but he was faltering. Inside the lotus chamber, Saarya’s head snapped toward the entrance. “That man… is bleeding for you.” Radhika felt her heart twist painfully. Her fingers curled, nails digging into her palms. “I never asked him to.” Saarya lifted an eyebrow. “And yet he fights. And yet you fear his death.” A smile ghosted her lips. “You cannot hide the echo between you, daughter.” Radhika swallowed hard. She hated the truth in those words. Suddenly, Saarya’s aura flared—bright, furious, divine. “The Upper World has breached the barrier.” Her voice trembled, not with fear—but rage. “They are coming for my bloodline. For you. For the twins.” She turned toward Radhika. “You must awaken the Second Lotus Seal.” Radhika’s breath hitched. “The what?” Saarya touched the center of Radhika’s chest. A lotus pattern burned beneath her skin. “This seal can bend fate. Warp death. Rewrite destiny.” Her voice dropped. “But it will also draw the eye of the Celestial Emperor.” Radhika felt ice crawl up her spine. Her grandfather. The most terrifying being in existence. Meera hugged her leg tightly. “Mama… don’t go.” Aarav’s voice trembled. “Stay with us.” Radhika knelt and hugged them both fiercely. “I will never leave you. No matter what comes.” Saarya watched with a sorrow that only ancient beings understood. The lotus chamber began to shake violently. Saarya extended her hand. “My final gift, Radhika.” A glowing lotus petal drifted down, hovering before Radhika’s chest. “Awaken the First Lotus Bloodline. Through me.” Radhika hesitated only a moment. Then she stepped forward. The petal touched her skin. And everything exploded—light, sound, memory. Radhika screamed as millions of ancestral visions poured into her—every Lotus before her, every battle, every sacrifice, every death, every rebirth. Saarya caught her collapsing form and whispered: “My lotus child… now rise.” Light exploded from Radhika’s body, swirling like a galaxy. Meera and Aarav were knocked back, shielding their eyes. The chamber filled with petals—glowing, spinning, singing. A ripple of power tore through the entire realm. And outside, Ashvar froze mid-strike, eyes widening. “That aura—” he whispered hoarsely. “Radhika…” His heart slammed painfully against his ribs. He had never felt anything so familiar. So terrifying. So… connected. The light faded. Radhika stood slowly. Her eyes now shimmered crystalline violet, the mark of the First Lotus. Her hair flowed like starlight. Lotus sigils floated around her gently, like living petals. Saarya bowed her head. “You are now the Lotus Sovereign Reborn.” Radhika breathed in— And the world bowed. Not from power. But from recognition. Destiny had found its vessel. Saarya’s glow dimmed. Her form flickered. “Mother?” Radhika reached forward desperately. Saarya smiled, gently cupping her daughter’s cheek. “I will return… when the final lotus blooms.” Her gaze drifted to the twins. “And when the father accepts his truth.” Radhika froze. Ashvar. Her mother’s form shattered into lotus petals and dissolved into the air. A cold wind swept through the chamber. The upper world drums began to sound in the distance. War was coming. Radhika stepped toward the entrance, power radiating from her every breath. She opened the door— And found Ashvar leaning against the wall, bleeding, panting, but alive. Their eyes locked. His jaw tensed. Her heart skipped. The world held its breath. Ashvar whispered hoarsely: “What… have you become, Radhika?” And she answered, voice steady and dangerous: “Everything you feared.” But the way Ashvar looked at her— Not with fear. With undeniable, breaking longing— told her something dangerous: He would burn the Upper World for her. Even if she never loved him back.
