ASHLEY’S POV Practice ended before I realized how much time had passed. My notebook was crammed with scribbles, arrows, and notes about the drills. My hand ached, but in the best way possible. As the guys shuffled off the ice, Coach made his way over to me. He clapped a rough hand on my shoulder. “You did good today, Ashley,” he said. I blinked, stunned. “Really? You mean that?” He chuckled “You came in here with something to prove and you did. Organization, follow-through, initiative. Not bad for day one. Don’t let Jack get under your skin either. Boys like him bark more than they bite.” I smiled. I couldn’t help but feel a bit proud of myself “Thanks, Coach.
