Margaret looked as though she were going to burst, her eyes shaking with anger.
"This has never happened before, and I'm sure we are not in support of this..." She used her eyes to survey the crowd, but Catherine cut in before anyone could raise a second argument.
"It's legal. Now call the vote," she said in a ferocious voice that scared Margaret, and Adrian watched her shudder with deep satisfaction.
Margaret turned to look at the crowd, her mouth fixed in a grim line.
"Raise your hands, everybody who is in support of this idea of ousting Adrian Vale as the CEO."
Adrian kicked himself internally as he saw three hands raise up.
Margaret.
Jennifer.
David.
"All opposed?"
Richard raised his hand. So did another board member Adrian was not very well acquainted with.
