“He wants you, Heather. You must already know that.” Heather nodded slowly, as the reality of her new relationship with her boss began to sink in. She stared silently at the matron. “Oh, I know all his foibles. I probably know him better than his deceased wife.” Mrs. Wolski smiled at Heather. “But, darling, I can tell you beneath it all he is a good man, solid, reliable, warm, and caring. Oh, and did I mention in the hands of the right woman he is compliant, too?”
