Chapter 60: Summer cup starting

August 25th, the day of the tournament arrived. All players invited to the tournament were asked to log in early in the morning for a meet-up. The players are summoned in a giant square. The location was unknown to everyone or it wasn’t included in the game. It was a special area created only for the tournament.

Emerging from blue light. Kaede appeared in the middle of many players. They turned their heads the moment Kaede made an appearance. This is proof that Kaede is one of the most popular players in the game by now. But not everyone was pleased upon seeing Kaede. Some players do stare at Kaede sharply and are annoyed by her. In another way, some look at her with a smile.

While looking at them. The five players walked near Kaede's and look down on her. The man in the armor was beyond six feet tall and Kaede whose only 4’8 foot tall can be seen as a midget.

Kaede muttered calmly.

The player in full red armor suits clear his throat and continue.

Player war rules are simple. The team who got the highest points will be held as a winner. Points can only be gained after killing an opponent player. Each game will be joined by 2 teams assembled by 5 team members or less. No items allowed of change of equipment when the battle started. Before the game starts. Both teams will toss a coin and the winner will gain to choose one of the stadiums. Players wars can be held in 12 different stadiums with different terrain and weather condition. Little things on the battlefield can be used as one’s advantage in the game. It's simple right?”

Yuki raised her hand and asked a question.

“When the game starts. Where is the respawn point? When a player dies. Will the player still respawn?”

“About that… Teams will both respawn in both opposite ends of the map. But when a player dies that means eliminated. That player was eliminated in the entire game. The game will end when the whole other team was defeated or the other team can’t make a comeback anymore… Now let's see the team who will face each other… Ta-da!”

Another window screen floats in the air. It shows the guild names and in the brackets.

Kaede searches for their names.

“We’re going to do the first battle… And our opponent was the Holy heroes guild. That guild was Elise guild.”

Yuki said and turned her eyes to Elise and Melida standing.

“The heroes battle the demon king guild. This is unexpected Yuki.”

“Yeah, I will make sure to put a conclusion on our last battle.”

“I feel the same way.”

Yuki and Elise look at each other intensely. Melida whose beside Elise looks to Kaede.

“Let's do our best Kaede.”

“Same to you Melida.”

“Is this fine? The heroes vs the demon king guild already? I’m observing them this past few days I notice that they are both great rivals. Seeing them fight early in the tournament will break my motivation in watching the whole tournament.”

Rabbit said as she watch while eating potato chips. Beside her was a tiger Whose seriously watching everyone from the control panel.

“They're both interesting and have similar-looking beginnings. Also, their partner was a rival in different games. Elise and Yuki will also make a good fight. Tiger let's start the betting. Who do you think will win. Kaede team or Melida team?”

Kaede and Melida face each other and seemingly know what their about to do. Kaede chose heads and Melida chose tails. The cat flips the coin.

[Holy heroes guild will choose the stadium.]

Kaede muttered.

“Random.”

[Random stadium was chosen.]

“Huh? Why random?”

Elise asked.

“I don’t want to use some advantage battling Kaede. I want to surpass her in any situation fair an square.”

Melida said.
