Chapter 95: Sword skill (Part 2)

1644 Words
“See, I’m super strong.” I said as I flexed my self looking at Shun and Alicia with a big smile on my face. “That was insane… The demon tree that took the nutrients of the northern part of the forest fell… I saw it with my own two eye’s but I still can’t believe it… The demon tree is already gone.” Alicia put her hand on her forehead. “Kaede is really strong… Are you an adventurer before you drifted in this city?” Shun said. “Well, something like that. I split an entire island one time and killed a dragon before.” I was referring to the battle island event and the first dungeon I took when I was starting as a player. Being a player in RPG and adventurer seems to be similar. Honestly, I’m not sure if my damage will do this much. I’m only expecting a huge wedge when I swing my ax. I’m a bit surprised myself. Since they look shocked about it. I can’t help myself to be a little arrogant with it. In this world, I’m still unable to know my real stats. But I have a brief understanding of how the system works. The system work similarly to RPG’s but with some twist. I can’t remember my stats because it was changing depending on the equipment I’m using… So I don’t know how much damage I just inflicted to the demon tree. The demon tree’s Life is in 400,000. My attack is currently above that number. My life was in 100. Expecting it was the normal life of a human in this world. That said… My face became grim with the sudden realization. I could kill anyone with my damage?! I better control this STR of mine. Or else, I might kill someone accidentally. Having a second thought… It doesn’t apply when I’m not attacking. In a fantasy world online. I have to think I’m attacking when inflicting damage. I play hundreds of hours in that game and have a grip on myself. “In another world you talking about you're an adventurer. That explained you sing that Arts.” “Kaede is from another world?” “Yep, I’m transported here from another world.” Alicia said and distance herself from me a little bit. This is the first time she heard about my past. I’m happy that she immediately believe me. “Are you an Alien?” “No! Maybe…” I came from another world… Then, I’m an alien… I guess… “But Kaede is too strong… Your physical appearance doesn’t translate to the strength you just demonstrated… I thought Aliens have these big heads and wide eyes. They look scary.” Alicia added. Big heads and wide eyes look like anime characters in my perspective. I do see some science fiction illustrating aliens. They said humans are universal beings. The other intelligent life on another planet looks the same as humans they said. It's just a theory… A science theory. High possibility that I was wrong. I tried walking to Alicia and Shun. But before I made my first step I tripped and fell. Hurting my nose in the process. For now, Shun has me ride his back again back to the city. Before the three of us, we’re able to get inside. We are blocked by the guard and have some questions for us. “Did you see the one responsible for the cutting of the demon tree?” “We do… I’m the one who cut it.” “You're physical appearance doesn’t make sense.” We know that already. The knight guard was doubting for a second and said: “You see the one who cut the demon tree will be given a handsome amount of money as a reward. It was a task in the guild posted for hundreds of years. It's considered as a legendary quest.” The knight guard said. Money that means. I’m able to adventure to the neighboring continent to meet up with the goddess. My luck is in max today. Shun, Alicia, and I look at each other with big smiles. But a group of adventurers arrived and pushed us away. As if brushing us from their path. They are a group of adventurers. Looking at them they are well built. A mage, A swordsman, A vanguard, and an archer. They all wearing armors and fancy-looking requirements. ABse on their equipment. Being an adventurer does make lots of money. “This girl is lying… The real person who cut down the demon tree was me.” The swordsman proudly said. Grrr… So they come here to steal my glory. They look decent but they are thieves. Just like in the modern world, you can’t distinguish the criminal base on their appearance alone. They look clean and respectable but they are scumbags to their core. “What are you saying? Kaede is the one who cut the tree.” “This disabled girl is the one who cut the tree... Are you joking? Looking at her thin limbs. The only thing she can cut is potatoes.” Want me to cut you like potatoes right now? I’ll make some good french fries from you.  I thought while glaring at the swordsman. The knight guard thinks about it and has his hand on his chin. Looking at him seems like he didn’t see the happening. The lake was quite far away from the entrance. I can’t blame them for that. “I saw it… Kaede is the one who cut it.” Alicia also argued. “This bunch of youngsters does have wild imagination on them. Look at their appearance. They wear such dull-looking clothes. Probably from the slumps. They are out to play and when they saw the tree falling. They claimed it to be their doing and get the reward.” The female mage said. “Expected from people born in lower society. They will do anything like deception just to gain some hard cash. It was sad that people at a young age are already lying for the name of money.” The archer added. Shun and Alicia’s argument is unbelievable. There is no evidence to support them. Base on appearance this party looks more capable than a girl that can’t even walk. Their smug face put me in the corner. “Then, would you mind facing me on a duel?” I asked. “Duel is not a joke, little girl.” “Are you scared? To a girl like me. If you’re that afraid. I’ll let you have your whole team for backup.” “Hey, kid are you looking down on me? We’re veteran adventurers we killed orcs and giant monsters already. If I were you I’ll watch my mouth.” “Retorting to intimation… Are you that scared?” I said. The swordsman stepped back a little and is fistball on the fist. He likes to hit me as hard as he can. “Fine, by me but don’t cry after this.” “She’s just a  little girl, don’t let the what goes on your head.” “As an adult, I have to punish some cheeky brat.” He insisted. My nagging works and he just told me how childish he is. But that works fine by me. Since is mentally unstable. I might use it as an advantage in the duel. “Mister guard can I borrow that sword.” “Sure… Are you really fine?” “I’ll be fine… It's not a deathmatch so I’ll probably be okay.” We decided to get the duel outside of the city. In a clean plain area. The witnesses were the three-guard knight, the adventurers, and my friends. I do need the reward money. I need to prove that I’m the one who cut down the tree. We’re doing a  classic duel. The first one who gives up is the winner. Injuring was allowed, but killing is forbidden. One of the guard knights is serving as the referee on the battle. The swordsman and I face each other at a ten-meter distance. “Duel start!” With a swing of the referee's hand downward. The duel has begun. The swordsman get drew his sword and charged in my direction. While on that. I thought of something. Using my imagination and feeling. I have to remember that sensation of the skills I used before. That’s the key aspect of my sword s***h. Then, maybe I can do this… “Fire Sword!” A giant red blade formed from flames flew toward the swordsman. The trajectory wasn’t hit, but it fly to the mountain carving the tree’s it passed by. A huge part of the forest was cut down as a result. The swordsman and the knights are shocked by it. While he's not paying attention to me, I took it as an advantage and cast another skill. “Dash thrust!” My body moves forward in high velocity to the swordsman. While moving, I remember that my STR can kill people. I change trajectory and move toward the big boulder of rock sideways. The boulder of rock got destroyed into fragments when my sword made a contact with it. “That was close… I might kill him if I’m not careful.” The swordsman was confounded while having cold sweat on his cheeks. Seems like he's pretty much sure that my attack can kill him. Alicia and Shun made a proud smile. “Do you want to continue or tell the truth? Either will be fine by me. Don’t cry if I accidentally cut one of your limbs.” I said with a cruel smile. It terrified the swordsman and admitted defeat immediately. He even told the knights that he's lying earlier.
