“I’m very sorry, Kaede but in your current situation… Umm… You know.”
Miss Viola averted her eyes as she speak with me.
“Nope, It's fine.”
I said and turned my crutches away from her.
Why I’m here? I know that she won’t accept me. After six months of my absence from work. Of course, there is nothing for me to go back to.
“Kaede!”
Miss Viola called out. She approaches me and puts something in my pocket. Checking, It was 20 silver coins. I was puzzled about why Miss Viola would do something for me.
“Why? I never do any work…”
“... Take it… I feel bad for what happened to you… Promise me… Don’t lose hope okay.”
I nodded and bow my head to her.
“Thank you.”
After I meet with my former employer. I go to a library that I never got to visit for a very long time.
When can use my hand and move my arms? I always asked Shun to get one book for me. Little by little, I learned how to read, but not very fluent other people.
I started reading children’s books. Especially short stories. Reading books is a great passed time while recovering.
During that time Shun took me to other places like on a riverbank or a potato farm. So that he can work while taking care of me.

I move to one shelf and take a book.
“Kaede?”
The one whose calling was my friend that I made before. Eugene looking surprised immediately approached me.
“What happened?”

“You're not with little sister?”
“Miyu? Yeah, she’s living with aunt right now… I started to train as a knight. I don’t have much time to see her. I just go here to borrow some books for her. I’m planning to visit her later.”
Eugene said and took a pendant and open it. Inside the pendant was a picture of his little sister.
“Miyu sure is cute.”
“Yeah, she is the cutest in the universe… Then, I have to go. I have to see her before the sunset.”
“Being a big brother is tough.”
“Yeah, see you.”

Eugene is training as a knight. Knight is like a soldier. Probably he's going to be assigned to a kingdom on far away land.
The country of Stella was run only by nobles. The royal family lived in the capital city.
I chose my book and go to the librarian.
After getting the book I like. I continue walking back to slumps.
Shun is not around for now. He needs to make money for food. I troubled him these past months already. Because of my condition. Shun can only work while I’m asleep. I always need him in everything. That includes taking a bath.
First, I was embarrassed but after doing it over and over again. There is nothing I can hide from Shun anymore. All of my skin is seen by him. The wounds on my body healed. The bad thing was the scars it left. It was left on my body marking my foolishness.
When I was back in Japan, there are times I’m encountering disabled people. Blind people, people who can’t walk. The most hurting was most of them is on the street living as beggars. I’m quite lucky that I have met a kind-hearted man, Shun. Who has taken care of me without me giving anything back to him?
My goal is not changed. I have to go back to my world.
This world has a power system and magic-like abilities.
Just like how Shun used his ax that day. That was nothing ordinary.
In magic nothing is impossible. Curing my legs is not impossible. I have to be competent and optimistically look for away.

While I’m on my way back home. I encountered the blonde-haired girl who I talked to before. I found out that her name was Alicia. She is the same age as Shun and always has a bad eye on him.
Better ignore him.
“You became a replacement.”
“Are you referring to me?”
“We’re the only two people here… Of course, I’m referring to you. After some time I won’t be surprised if you're the next victim of him. That murderer… Reaper.”
I don’t know what these girls deal but she’s doing her best to mess up with Shun. Did shun do something bad to this girl? If there are… Then I don’t want to know about it. I have my problems to solve.
If her hobby is gossiping. I won’t stop her until her throat fell dry.
While walking I dropped a book.
From my position taking it would be hard. I turned my head on it and tried to reach it down. Before I reach it, Alicia took it and read it.
“Basic reading… What are you an i***t? I see that’s why you're fooled by Shun… because you’re an idiot.”
“Give it back.”
“What if I don’t? What can you do? Chase me? I bet you can’t… Reach it… Here, here… Chase me.”
I gritted my teeth and clench my crutches. She is right, chasing her would be pointless.
But I need to take the book. I need to learn more in this world.
“Give me my book.”
“Chase me first…”
“Grrr…”
I tried to chase her down, but she made stepped back every time I manage to move one step to her.
She made a step forward and kicks one of my crutches. I lost my balance and fell.
Chasing her is pointless. Why I’m chasing her?

She continues to mock me.
Behind her, Shun arrived and snatched the book from her hand.
“Enough with your games Alicia… Kaede didn’t do anything bad.”
“The reaper… Looks like you’re having fun replacing your disabled little sister with another disabled girl… You look like the same age… Ew, Don’t tell me you're doing perverted stuff on her already. I quite understand that. No one wants to be with a reaper like you. I feel bad for her.”

Shun snapped out.
He glared at Alicia and brushed her away from us.
“Murderer… You’re not allowed to be happy! You must suffer! Always suffer… Don’t forget your sins.”
“I always know my sins. I always repent on my sins…” Shun said with low toned voice. Turning his body in my direction. He gets my crutches. “Are you okay Kaede?”
“Yeah…”
“We’re going home.”
Shun carry me on his back and we walked back home.
I don’t know whats Shun’s pat or why many people hated him. Why someone like him is hated? What sins are they talking about? I became curious about it suddenly.
“I want to know Shun better…”
I whispered.
“Know me better… Then, can you promise me of not hating me after I tell you my pass?”
“Yeah… Shun take care of me… I can’t hate you.”
With a brief pause. Shun moves his mouth.
“There is a time, A time where I killed my friends, together with my little sister.”
