Kaden's POV
As for my speech, people were in awe and grieving for my father's passing.
When my dad's body and the altar had finished burning, I asked everyone to meet at the house for refreshments and probably sleep over since it was already dark.
The Alpha of another pack walked up to me while we were dining.
"That was a great speech. Spoken like a leader but how well can you act?" he said.
"Most leaders do their actions by talking and allowing their followers to do the work but I put my claws where my mouth is," I replied.
"I'm Raphael," he said and stretched out his hand for a handshake.
I reached out to him and shook him. "I'm Kaden," I replied.
"Oh, I know the famous Kaden, you know that there are rumours that you are not comfortable with how we do things and how your dad did things?" he said.
"Well, the rumours used to be true but not anymore," I said.
"Cheers," he smiled and then walked away.
After a while, people began to find a room to sleep while those that came in their cars went home as there weren't enough rooms to accommodate everyone.
Raphael walked up to me again with a cup in his hand.
"I see you haven't parted ways with your cup all night," I said.
He smiled and replied, "I heard the UA haven't parted ways with your pack just yet, it's almost as if they want to take your pack off the map," he said.
"Well, that's never going to happen. I will fight them with the last drop of blood in my veins," I replied.
"I respect that a lot and if you need more soldiers to join you, my pack is always ready to help." He said and he gave me how he could be contacted and gestured "call me".
"I will and thank you, Raph," I said.
He nodded his head and left.
"Who was that?" Charity asked.
"He is the Alpha of one of the packs," I replied.
"And what does he want?" She asked.
"He wants to help me fight the UA," I replied.
"Look who is already making allies, you will be a great Alpha I know it," she said, then kissed me on my cheek and headed for the room.
"Meet me in the room soon enough," she said with a knowing smile. Then, she walked away.
"I will." I replied.
We all went to bed that night full and happy for a new era.
I woke up very early in the morning to go for a run in the woods. When I had finished running I was heading back to the house then I started hearing footsteps in the woods.
I quickly took cover behind a tree and immediately the person passed the tree, I attacked the person and held the person against the tree I was hiding behind.
A familiar face, the girl I liked who killed my father....She was standing right there.
My anger aroused and immediately I tried punching her but she dodged my punch which smashed the tree.
She flipped me over and I landed on the ground. She sat on me and punched me rapidly then she took out a knife and stabbed me. I reacted by punching her in the belly and she fell off me.
I took out the knife she stabbed me with and it went away, I healed immediately.
Before she could stand up I picked her up and threw her against a tree. I tried picking her up from the ground again but she swept me from the ground and fell on my back.
She tried stamping me to the ground but I grabbed her leg and threw her on the ground. I punched her repeatedly.
"You murdered my dad," I said while punching her.
"Your dad killed my parents," she said the same moment I had said that.
The moment I heard what she said I stopped punching her.
"My dad?" I asked.
"Yes, that was the main reason I joined the UA. To get revenge for my parents," she said.
I was frozen and couldn't say anything.
"Your dad with some other people killed my parents the same day, and the UA was the only one that took me in," she said.
I felt sympathy for her and somehow the feeling I had for her began to resurface now that I know that she only did it for her parents.
"All these were caused by humans and ourselves fighting against each other," I said.
"We should end this war before many other parents or children are lost to it," she said.
"I agree. We will have to discuss more about this but now isn't a good time. How about we meet here tomorrow at the same time," I asked.
"No problem, make sure you don't come with your pack or claws," she said.
"Neither you with your knife or fighting skills," I replied.
She was about to go away when I called out, "What's your name?"
She turned and said with a grim face. "Alina."
"I'm Kaden." I replied even though I knew she didn't ask for my name.
We both went our separate ways. I was delighted, I had finally talked to her, and hearing about her parents kind of rid me of some of the anger I felt towards her for killing my dad.
I should have seen it as a spade for a spade. But something in me wanted to get her back for what she did to my father. My emotions were extremely conflicted and I could sense that my wolf was also in distress.
The conversation wasn't the only thing that made my emotions heightened. While we were fighting back and forth, my eyes glowed a different colour - red as the rage that was embedded in me.
I had finally become an Alpha.
