Kaden's POV
We were in the dining room, we had just finished eating when Alina's phone rang, I believe the person on the phone had said something to Alina because all of a sudden Alina gestured me to excuse her and I nodded my head in acceptance for how to go on
Immediately Alina left I followed her from behind because I thought "why wouldn't she be able to take a call in my presence," no matter how important it was. I thought we had become close enough to be hiding calls from each other.
I got to Alina's room and the door was shut so I just stood outside since I can hear from afar.
"I didn't switch. the house was attacked and more than half of the Mystic shadows pack have been killed. Since I couldn't take Kaden out I couldn't call you so I don't blow my cover," she said.
