Alina's POV
"And how does that make you feel?" Jayce asked gently, after I had dropped the bomb of the conflicting feelings I was starting to feel towards Kaden. This was the first time I was voicing them aloud.
I paused, considering his question. "I don't know, Jayce. It's just... it's like I'm not important anymore. Like he doesn't value my opinion."
Jayce's eyes met mine with a concerned look. "Have you talked to him about how you feel?"
I nodded. "I just did and just like every time I mention it he first gets defensive before apologizing. And I feel it's not that sincere judging from the expression on his face. I don't think I believe him at all."
Jayce let out a sigh before taking a sip of his own coffee. "Do you feel happy, Alina?"
I looked up at him, surprised by his question.
