Nero’s gaze met with his mum's, who still couldn’t understand what was going on; he sighed heavily and was quick to take a step backwards when Lena raised her hand to hit his chest.
“I know I am a monster, but won’t it do you good to try and hurt me instead?” He asked, and Lena sniffed her tears, which she didn’t realise had started flowing.
“I am a man who doesn’t lie; if I said I didn’t kill someone, then I didn’t,” he blurted, and Lena chuckled.
She had no idea the devil doesn’t lie.
“Then my parents?” Lena questioned, and Nero held her hand and pulled her closer.
“I killed your parents, and you tried to do the same to me.” He wasn’t scared to admit what he did; he couldn’t have quenched his anger if he didn’t do that.
