Marvin picks up his phone and dials his stepdad Justin's number. After a few rings, Justin answers the call and greets his stepson. Justin asks Marvin how everything is going, to which Marvin responds positively and thanks Dad for buying everything for him and Jen. Justin assures Marvin that he is happy to provide for them and wants them to be comfortable. At that moment, Justin's wife enters the room, and he decides to put Marvin on speakerphone. Marvin greets his mother and reassures her that everything is okay. She then informs Marvin and Jen that they are all invited to a celebration dinner at their house later that evening and requests that they arrive no later than 7 pm. Marvin was curious as to why his family was throwing a celebration dinner. He asked, "Hey, why are you all throwing a celebration dinner? And what exactly are you celebrating?" Morgan, Marvin's mother, responded, "Well, Marvin, we are celebrating your official return home and you becoming the CEO of the Bash Group." Marvin grunted in response, not entirely thrilled with the attention. His mother noticed and said, "You know, honey, you're the first of my children to come back home permanently. Your siblings live busy lives."
Marvin shrugged and replied, "Yes, Mom, I know. Trina is in New York, and Darnell and Anthony are together in LA. Have you been keeping up with Anthony's games? It's his last season with the Fire."Morgan smiled and replied, 'Yes, dear, I have. I wish that all my children would come home more often. We are all grown-ups now, Mom,' he said. 'It's great to see you at least once a month now, but your siblings barely have time for me even when they do come home,' responded Morgan. Despite Marvin being the center of attention, Morgan's heart longed to see her children more often."
I know that, Mom. How's Justin doing? He will let you know himself when y'all come over for dinner. I understand that Jennifer and I have to be there earlier than 7. I appreciate you for being a smart son. Alright, Mom, I'll see you all soon. Hey, Jen, what's going on? We have to attend a celebration dinner at the Bash Compound tonight. What time is dinner? It's at 7:00 pm, but we should be there an hour early and dress nicely because many people will be present. It's 3:30 pm now, so I need to head back to my apartment and get ready. I'll come back to pick you up at 5:00 pm sharp. Alright, that sounds good. I'm leaving now to go to my new place," Jennifer said.
Marvin had a hectic day trying to adapt to his new lifestyle. He felt relieved to be heading back to his apartment. He walked out of his new home, got into his truck, and started his journey to his apartment in Atlanta. Once he arrived, he deactivated the alarm system that he had set up to ensure his safety.
Marvin decided to freshen up before heading out for the dinner celebration. He went into his closet and picked out his outfit carefully, making sure it was perfect for the occasion. He chose a black Ralph Lauren button-up shirt, matching khakis, and black Kenneth Cole shoes. As he was getting dressed, he checked his safe for important documents from his time as an agent and took out a Desert Eagle gun to put with his clothes, just in case.
Marvin took a shower and decided to wear his Bond Number Nine New York Nights cologne, which he had received as a gift from someone special. He hasn't worn that cologne for a few years. He sprayed it on himself and his undershirt, feeling anxious for the night ahead. As he prepared to leave, he felt thankful for the small things that brought him happiness in life.
As he stepped out of his apartment, he walked towards the parking lot where his truck was parked. He unlocked the doors, got in, and started the engine. He drove back towards Jennifer's new home with a sense of urgency. As he pulled into the driveway, Jennifer walked out to greet him. "Wow! It didn't take you long to get back here," she said. He smiled and replied, "Well, I wanted to get here on time because it's a drive to get to my parents' place." Jennifer asked how far it was, and he responded, "It's about forty-five minutes to an hour with traffic. Without traffic, it's usually thirty to thirty-five minutes to get there." Jennifer nodded and replied, "Got it. So, let's get going now, Jen." But before they could leave, Jennifer paused and said, "Hold on, let me get my flats as backup shoes." She quickly went back inside to grab her shoes, and they were finally on their way.
Marvin and Jennifer arrived at the entrance of the Bash compound, where they were greeted by a team of security guards who approached Marvin's truck and asked him for his identification. Marvin handed over his ID without hesitation, but Jennifer appeared surprised and asked the guards why they didn't recognize him. Marvin explained that it was his first visit to the compound, even though he had recently taken over as CEO.
Jennifer seemed confused and asked where Marvin had been for the past few weeks. Marvin clarified that he had only returned home two weeks ago and had spent the other two weeks traveling to Florida and Missouri. Then, Jennifer realized that Marvin had been hanging out with James in Florida and Kenny in Missouri.
Jennifer couldn't help but wonder if Marvin had any plans to bring his friends on board with the company. She asked him if he had considered it, and Marvin responded that he wasn't entirely sure, especially in James' case. James was becoming one of the top doctors in Florida, and Marvin didn't want to take him away from his practice.
They had been given clearance by security to enter the house, and as they drove up the long driveway, they were amazed at the sight of a huge mansion at the end of it. The front door was open, and Morgan was standing at the top of the stairs, waiting to greet them.
A staff member came out of the house, ran to Marvin's truck, and took his keys to park it. Impressed by the level of service, Marvin and Jennifer went up the stairs to greet Morgan, who welcomed them warmly and asked where Justin was.
Morgan informed them that Justin, the host of the party, was in his study with Aaron and Kylan. Marvin wasn't pleased to hear that, as he knew that those two didn't like him, but Morgan insisted that they would have to get over it.
Justin's study was located on the second floor, and Marvin was instructed to turn right and look for the third door on the right. As he made his way up the stairs, he couldn't help but admire the grandeur of the house. The walls were adorned with exquisite paintings, and the chandeliers sparkled like diamonds.
Finally, Marvin reached Justin's study and knocked on the door.
Meanwhile, Morgan caught up with Jennifer, who was admiring the view from the top of the stairs. They chatted for a while, and Morgan gave her a tour of the house, pointing out all the unique features and decorations.
Meanwhile, in the study, Marvin could hear the sound of a heated conversation inside. Justin opened the door and welcomed him. Hey son, it's great to see you.
