Marvin and Justin took their seats at the dinner table. Marvin is sitting next to Jennifer, and Justin is sitting at the head of the table. Morgan welcomed them and said, "It's about time y'all made it down here." Justin replied, "I'm sorry, sweetheart. We made it in time to eat dinner, though." Morgan then asked Justin if he would like to say something to the guests about why they were having this celebration dinner. Justin replied, "Of course, dear."
Justin lifted his glass, the clinking sound catching everyone's attention. "Hello, everyone," he began, "I am happy to see all of you gathered here today." We are here to celebrate Marvin and Jennifer's appointment as CEO and VP of the Bash Group. Both of them will bring new perspectives and ideas to help us achieve greater success.
As Justin spoke, Marvin and Jennifer stood up to the sound of applause, acknowledging everyone with a nod and a smile. The room was filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation about what the future held.
However, not everyone seemed to share this enthusiasm. Corey Sands, one of the attendees, appeared surprised by the announcement and whispered to his wife Valerie, "I made a grave mistake, babe." Valerie looked at him quizzically and asked, "What did you do?"
Corey hesitated momentarily before replying, "I asked Vanessa and Victoria to date Kylan or Aaron because I thought one of them would take over the Bash Group from Justin." His voice was barely audible over the crowd's murmur, but Valerie understood the gravity of the situation. During a conversation, Valerie expressed concern about Corey's decision to involve their daughter in the Bash family. Corey explained that he wanted their family to be part of the Bash family and believed it would provide a great future for their daughter. Valerie disagreed, stating that their daughters already had a promising future. Despite this, Corey was insistent and planned to talk to Justin about it. Valerie then asked Corey if he thought Marvin wasn't part of the Bash family, to which Corey replied that he was unaware of Marvin's existence. Valerie informed Corey that she had spoken to Morgan and that Marvin was Morgan's second son. Since they knew about Morgan's other children, Corey was surprised and wondered why he had never heard of Marvin before.
I know that the twins have a crush on Anthony Kane. That means Marvin is the brother Anthony always talks about in interviews regarding who got him into playing baseball after their father passed away when he was younger. "I initially thought it was Darnell since he is Anthony's older brother and agent, said Corey. "You might be right, honey," said Valerie. "Well, we need to figure out how to get one of our daughters to date and marry Marvin," said Corey. Honey, do you think Marvin is dating the new VP? I don't know Val, but they do look like a couple.
At the end of the table, Jennifer whispered to Marvin, "Hey, how did your talk go with Justin? It went very differently from what I expected." Marvin replied, "We can talk about it when we leave the party, Jen." "Oh, ok, bet," replied Jennifer. Marvin looked around the dinner and saw that there were a lot of eyes on him. Marvin took a mental note of it. Then Marvin starts eating his food like nothing is going on. Kylan was trying to get Jennifer's attention while they were sitting across from each other. Jennifer ignored Kylan as he tried to get her attention.
Vanessa and Victoria discussed Marvin. "Do you find him attractive?" Victoria inquired. "Yes, I do. Since you're occupied with Kylan, I might as well try my luck with Marvin," Vanessa responded. "No, I want to pursue him. It's not my fault that you don't find Aaron and Kylan appealing," Victoria retorted. You're mistaken, sis. "Aaron and Kylan are attractive, but they're not my type," explained Victoria. "You're still a hopeless romantic!" That's not how the real world works, little sister. Not everything is a fairy tale," Vanessa remarked. "It's rare to find a genuinely caring guy who will love and respect you the way you deserve," she continued. "So, you think Marvin doesn't fit that description? We don't even know who he is, Victoria. He just appeared out of nowhere and is now the new CEO of the Bash group," Vanessa stated. "What did Kylan say about him?" Victoria inquired. "Well, he mentioned that Marvin is a brute and doesn't come from a wealthy background like us," Vanessa replied. "So, is he implying that Marvin is unintelligent?" Victoria questioned. "I suppose so, Victoria. We should talk to Marvin and see if Kylan's description holds.
`After dinner, Justin strolled out to the back porch of the house, which offered a breathtaking view of the lake on the property. "Hey, Justin," called Corey as he approached. "We haven't had a chance to talk since my family and I arrived. What's on your mind?" Justin looked at Corey, waiting for his question. "I was wondering why you didn't choose Aaron or Kylan as your successor for the CEO position in your company," Corey asked. Justin paused for a moment before responding, "Marvin is the right person for the job. Just like how I trusted you and invested in your company and got you on the board." "When will I get the chance to have a real conversation with Marvin? You want to see if he's good enough for one of your daughters." "Whoa! That's not true, Justin." "Uh-huh, right? Corey." "It's okay. I want Marvin to settle down with a good woman soon because it will be harder for him to trust a woman's attention for him."
Jennifer and Marvin strolled towards the kitchen, accompanied by Marvin's mother, Morgan. "It's lovely to see you both," remarked Morgan. "Please do visit us more often and don't be strangers." "We will, Mom. And we also need to plan a trip to Texas to move Jen to Atlanta officially," replied Marvin. "What belongings are still in Texas?" Morgan inquired. "Clothes, shoes, and some sentimental items, like family mementos," Jennifer explained. "That's important. Will you be taking one of the planes down there?" asked Morgan. "Planes?" Marvin looked surprised. "Yes, dear, we have more than one private plane," Morgan confirmed. "I didn't realize that. I'll talk to Justin about it. We mostly discuss other matters," Marvin admitted. "Well, go and have a chat with him to arrange the trip to Texas and finalize Jen's move here," Morgan advised. "Yes, ma'am," Marvin agreed. "Justin is out on the back porch, Marvin. You'll find him there," Morgan informed him. "Alright, ladies, I'll go and speak to my stepdad," Marvin said as he made his way toward the back porch.
While Marvin was walking towards the back porch, he noticed Cassandra and Crystal staring at him. "Is there something on my face?" Marvin asked them. Both of them said no. "Marvin, I was wondering, are you related to Anthony Kane?" asked Crystal. "Yes, I am. He is my little brother. Y'all must be fans of his?" "Yes, we are," they said at the same time. "I wish he were playing in Atlanta." "To be honest with y'all, I wish the same thing, but that might change soon, though." "Wait, what? What do you know, Marvin? Tell us now." "All I can say is that he sometimes misses being home, even though he likes being in LA. Next time we see each other, I'll give Anthony a FaceTime call." "You promise?" "Yes, I promise." "Goodbye, ladies. I'll have to talk to Justin now. Bye, Marvin!!" the twins said in unison. Marvin opened the door to the back porch and saw Justin, Corey, Kylan, and Aaron sitting down, drinking. "Hey, guys, what are we drinking tonight?" asked Marvin. Justin replied, "We are drinking Pappy Van Winkle 15-year family reserve." "That's a good year. What do you know about that?" asked Aaron. "Oh, I know what it is, Aaron. You might know about being rich, but you don't have a clue what it's like in the real world." "What are you trying to say, asshole?" said Aaron. "Boys, don't act this way in front of the company," Justin scolded. "Yes, sir," both of them said at the same time. Hey Marvin, can we take a walk? Asked Corey. Marvin, take a walk with Corey since he doesn't know you well, said Justin. Oh, ok, let's talk, Corey.
"Where have you been? I didn't know you existed. I was in the Army, sir. So you've been in the Army the entire time?" "Yes, which is a lie because only a few know that Marvin was only in the Army for four years. Marvin spent the other six years working for the agency." "Wow, thank you for your service." "No problem, sir. It's what I have wanted to do since my father passed away because he was a soldier himself. "That's admirable of you. You might be the type of guy that one of my daughters needs." Marvin chuckled at that notion. "Why would I be the type of guy for one of your daughters?" "You seem like a competent man, and I need that for one of them." "Ain't one of your daughters dating Kylan?" asked Marvin. "According to Vanessa, she said no, she isn't dating him." "Hmmm, that's odd," replied Marvin. When Marvin and Corey started walking back toward the back porch area, they were interrupted by Corey's wife, Valerie, and their two daughters, Vanessa and Victoria. Vanessa and Victoria took after their mother in terms of their looks. Valerie, being mixed with black and Native American, and Corey, being white, gave them a more exotic appearance. Vanessa is above-average height for a woman and has a supermodel body with hazel eyes. Victoria is of average height with green eyes and a curvy body. Both of them have honey-brown hair. The twins resemble their older sisters but are taller and also have hazel eyes and hair of the same color as their sisters. Marvin can see why a lot of guys try to pursue them, but they are not the ones he can see himself settling down with.
