I followed Mr. Green down the path heading for the sidewalk. His Ash blonde hair and his eyes... The green eyes... Look so familiar to me. But this ass in those jeans... That's new and I wasn't complaining about the view. Why was I going to a strangers house? Does this guy make me THAT turned around to forget the fact that I. Do. Not. Know. Him. My pace slowed but if he noticed I couldn't tell.
We approach his front porch and I don't move up the three steps to the door. He glances back as if understanding my hesitation. His wicked grin spread across his gorgeous face again. "Don't tell me you're afraid to come in... " He swung the door open in front of him. "Come on Detective, I have the stove on". He walked through the door and turned out of sight leaving the door wide open. How... How does he know I'm a detective? How does he know anything about me, we'd barely spoken ten words to each other. Curiosity got the better of me though and I found myself following him and shut the door behind me. It smelled like heaven. At least this is what I hope heaven smells like. I turned the same corner I saw him take and was immediately in the massive living room, open to the kitchen all beautiful and modern yet rustic in the best way. My new neighbor was flipping off switches and stirring something in a pot. Without glacing up he pointed at the gorgeous glass dining table in front of the kitchen island "sit, please, everything is ready" I did. Still wondering when I had become so submissive. This man just had some kind of control over me. He moved around me, filling plates, filling glasses before finally taking the chair next to me. The chicken parmesan in front of me looked devine. There was a fresh salad on the plate and my stomach sounded it's delight. I hadn't eaten anything while working the case I realized.
I picked up my cutlery and took a tentative bite... And moaned in delight. It was delicious. I noticed the man on my right staring at me. I glance up at him still chewing slowly. His eyes were hooded and there was something smoldering in them. "Sweetheart, you make that sound again and I have half a mind to pick you up off that chair, press your back against the wall and see if I can't make you do it louder". I gulped the food in my mouth down loudly. He had a hint of a southern drawl I hadn't heard before. Heat sprang up, reddening my cheeks and I ducked my head. Nobody had ever been so forward with me before. He lifted my chin up so our eyes locked again, then without warning he moved in close and captured my lips in his. I moaned again which had him tangling his hand in my hair. He nipped my lower lip, making me gasp and used that opportunity to dip his tongue into my mouth. Again I moaned and he effortlessly pulled me into his lap, never breaking contact. I must have recovered from my obvious brain injury, because I finally sprang up and away from him. "Who are you?" I ask shakily. His eyes seemed darker. "Jason Stone. And you belong to me Becca."
I laughed half heartily. I belong to noone. I thought silently. I stared at the man in front of me for what felt like forever. He extended his hand to me “Come and eat. I’ll behave myself”. Against my better judgement I let Jason lead me to the table I sat staring at the food in front of me for several long minutes. “So..” I breathed. “You own the investment company.” He hadn’t stopped watching me. “Yes, it’s one of my businesses. But I take it you don’t know who I really am. Or who you really are for that matter.” I stared dumbly back at him. He sighed as if it was such an inconvenience. “Eat first then we’ll talk. Your stomach is terribly angry from the sound of it”. He wasn’t wrong. I was starving and the food had been delicious enough to make it protest the wait. We ate in silence. I made sure to not make any kind of noise whatsoever to set him off on that absolutely delicious attack he had already made earlier. Delicious? What is WRONG with you?! But I couldn’t argue that it wasn’t the single most hottest kiss I’d ever taken part in. My bottom lip still felt swollen and was tingling like tiny electric jolts were running across it.
I sipped my wine slowly. It was sweet, a little bubbly, and I knew I shouldn’t drink it with the way my head was already spinning. But it was delicious and when I emptied my glass Jason filled it again. I shook my head and he raised an eyebrow that seemed to dare me to defy him. I stopped shaking my head immediately. Seriously. What the hell is wrong with me. After I had eaten and sat back in my chair, more full than I remember being in a long while he nodded at me and stood to clean up. His gesture seemed to tell me he was pleased I had eaten so much and I don’t know why but that pleased me too.
When he returned he put his hand out again and I instinctively took it and stood. He led us to his couch in the living room. It was a soft leather in a chocolate brown and was most definitely the most comfortable piece of furniture I’d ever sat on. I ran my hand over the arm of the sofa nervously. “So then… who are you really Mr. Stone. I hate to be rude but I’ve never met you before. I’m not sure where this declaration of possession is coming from but… I don’t know you”. Jason sat RIGHT next to me. The massive sofa was L shaped and could have easily sat 10 people. He took my hand in his and rubbed small circles with his thumb over the back of my hand. The same electric tingling followed his tiny patterns. He sighed again as he turned to me. “Do you remember where you grew up? Before you were about 12?” He asked. “Uhm. In the mountains in Tennessee. With my dad. We moved to Arizona when he took a new job.” I answered back. He nodded at me. “Do you remember Tennessee?” I frowned. What kind of question was tha- wait. I didn’t remember. I knew where we lived but I DIDN’T remember actually being there. Panic rose in my gut. Jason made soft shushing noises that did actually comfort me. “I know… I know baby… I assumed you didn’t remember or you would have come back.” Come back? Like he knew me. What was happening?!
“Becca, you and I knew each other. We played together growing up. Our parents were close. In fact, your father worked for mine in a sense. My father was the Alpha of the Shadow Moon pack, your father was the Beta. You’re a werewolf. I’m a werewolf. And you are my mate.”
I passed out cold right there on his lap
