Detective Carli Hale She hesitated at the door, before she knocked. She knew she was wasting her time, but she needed to at least do her part. Since it would come back on her if she didn’t warn them; even if they didn’t believe her. Taking a deep breath, she knocked on her sergeant’s office door. This was inevitable, she had to do it. At his call to enter, she shuffled her papers and went inside. “Sergeant, I need to speak to you urgently.” He glanced at her and sighed heavily. “What is it this time, Hale?” He asked with a long-suffering expression on his face.
