As they made their way towards the doorway, Jack and Elvira needled Victor, knowing that provoking him might cease the shots fired. "Don't pull the trigger unless you want your beloved boss to meet an early grave," Jack warned Victor's men with equal parts threat and resolve. "Go ahead, shoot them. I'm not afraid to die!" Victor affirmed, his tone unchanged.
"Perhaps you should fear what happens after Victor's gone. Without him, you'll have nowhere to run," Elvira cautioned her former companions within the syndicate, her expression cold and calculating. Seeing that Jack and Elvira were determined and unwilling to back down, Victor's men begrudgingly retreated, allowing them to escape with their captive. However, they continued to follow closely behind, unwilling to let them slip away so easily.
It was then that Jack had thought and quickly dialed a number on his phone. "Director Carl Watson?" Jack uttered Watson's name as the static-filled dial connected.
"Jack?—where are you? Where did you take Juarez? I will charge you for breaking the law!" Watson's expression roared with vexation through the telephone lines. Calmly composed, Jack answered back, "There is no need to worry, Watson. I will return Victor Juarez to you." He glanced over his shoulder, watching Victor tremble with fear amidst the chaos of the car heist taking place.
"Give him back?—are you kidding? But if you do bring him back, can you bring your associate with you? I know you and Galman are together, Jack." Watson's curiosity percolated into his tone. With a hint of uneasiness, Jack retorted, "Galman is not with me—if you want us to meet at the Pier, bring a troop of men. Just in case, we have some unwanted company tailing us." He shortly hung up on Watson, leaving him dismayed.
"Jack! Hello? Are you still there?" Watson uttered in Jack's ears as he disconnected the call.
Director Watson then gathered his unit, getting them ready for the critical task of capturing the infamous syndicate leader, Victor Juarez, along with his cohorts Elvira and Jack. "Get ready!" Watson announced, "We are going to catch a huge fish tonight! This time, we can't afford any mistakes. The exemplary reputation of the Bureau depends on you all." His men quickly equipped their firearms, eager to take on the impending combat.
"Sir, yes, Sir!" the team responded in unison, their words conveying their confidence in their ability to complete the task.
With a sense of hustle, Watson rallied his troops. "Alright! Let's go! Go! Go! Go!" he commanded, leading the charge toward their target destination at the Pier.
Meanwhile, as Elvira and Jack reached the Pier, they were met with the fierce regard of Victor's men, who were set to retaliate at any moment. Just as tension reached its peak, Jack's captive managed to break free from his grip, resulting in both Jack and Victor getting shot simultaneously.
Filled with outrage, Elvira turned to Jack. "Why did you let Victor go?" she demanded, her disappointment staying. Feeling the need to defend his actions, Jack reacted defensively, "I didn't let Victor go, Elvira. The old man was just too sneaky to hold onto!"
Meanwhile, aware of the unfolding chaos, Victor swiftly gave his orders to his men, instructing them to help facilitate his immediate escape. "Don't let those two interfere with my plans, not now. Is that clear?" Victor yelped at his men, still feeling the pain from the gunshot wound inflicted on him during his escape from Jack's captivity.
"Yes, boss."
"The police are on their way too. Have you set for a vehicle to get me out of here? I cannot afford to be captured," Victor added in urgency. "Your getaway vehicle is ready at the helipad, boss. Just waiting for your signal to take off," one of his men reassured him.
On the other hand, as the police, led by Director Watson, arrived at the Pier, they swiftly encircled the vicinity, determined to prevent the audacious criminal from fleeing. "Remember that we need to apprehend all three of them mentioned in the bulletin. Use non-lethal force unless they pose a threat," Director Watson instructed his officers.
"Yes, Sir!" they answered in unison.
"Alright, then let's move! We can't afford to waste any time! Watson bellowed, his men dispersing out of his sight as they strategically positioned themselves all around the Pier.
Amid the chaotic scene unfolding at the Pier, Jack, and Elvira clandestinely devise their intricate scheme. Their objective is to sabotage Victor's escape by detonating a bomb on his helicopter. However, their plan takes an unforeseen turn when Victor's reinforcements arrive, rendering Jack's mission seemingly impossible, especially with his former colleagues from the Bureau now joining the fray.
"Jack!" Elvira urgently calls out, desperately trying to get his attention after being apprehended by one of Victor's men.
Caught in a tense standoff, Victor brazenly addresses Jack, revealing his sinister intentions. "What now, Jack? Shoot us, and this woman will die alongside me. You'll never lay eyes on your child again," he taunts confidently, signaling his men to escort Elvira toward the awaiting helicopter.
Undeterred by Victor's threats, Elvira urges Jack not to succumb to his manipulation. "Don't listen to him. Kill him, and escape! Your daughter will find you," she pledges, her face brightening with a smile. Just as the situation reaches its height, Director Watson unexpectedly arrives on the scene, unknowingly breaking in on Jack's attempt to put an end to both Elvira and Victor. Oblivious to the true nature of the circumstances, Director Watson inadvertently intervenes, potentially altering the course of events.
"Jack? You wouldn't want to take revenge on your wife's murderer, would you?" Watson asked, his attention fully focused on Jack.
"Don't meddle in this, Director. You wouldn't want to get entangled in the mess this old man caused me," Jack replied, his eyes fixed on Victor and his gun aimed at him. "Fine! Do whatever you feel is right, Agent Bradley—just make it quick before my men arrive," Watson stated, now figuring out Jack's intentions.
Victor's eyes widened in disbelief as the bullet fired by Jack found its mark, striking him directly. His men instantly let go of Elvira to rush to Victor's aid, their guns trained on Jack. In the ensuing fight, bullets flew back and forth relentlessly. As Elvira desperately clung to the edge of the Pier's cliff side, she felt a searing pain in her chest, causing her to lose her balance and plummet towards the ground below. While Jack and Director Watson found themselves trapped with no way to escape as Victor's men opened fire.
Despite their best efforts, the two of them were hit by the foe, and the realization that the notorious old man from Zion City had managed to escape weighed heavily on them. In the stupor, Watson cried out in pain, urging Jack to prevent their enemies from getting away.
"Jack! Stop them, don't you let them get away!" Watson's voice trembled with agony.
As the throbbing pain shot through his body, Jack's mind raced to recall the plan he and Elvira had devised. Then it hit him, like a jolt of electricity surging through his veins. Elvira had plotted to bomb Victor's helicopter. Jack's thoughts briefly strayed back to the conversations they had, envisioning the strategic details they had meticulously worked out. His eyes fell upon his phone, realizing that it held the key to completely dismantling Victor's evil plan. "The bomb?" Jack murmured, his mind connecting the dots.
A surge of conclusion coursed through him as he reached for his phone. With a steady hand, he pressed the button that would set the explosive plan into motion.
As the deafening explosion tore through the air, Jack seized the opportunity to escape. Victor and his men, who had been hot on their trail, suddenly turned their attention to the source of the loud noise. A glimmer of recognition flickered in Victor's eyes as he heard the familiar sound emanating from beneath his seat. It was the sound of his opponents outsmarting him, using his vehicle against him.
"Well played." A sly smile spread across Victor's face, acknowledging the genius behind his adversaries' methods. He did not make any further attempts at escape or resistance. Instead, he simply watched as the explosion marked the end of his solitary life, a life steeped in darkness and treachery.
