Despite this setback, Jack covertly accessed the compartment containing Juarez's stolen goods. However, Juarez's other men caught his actions and stopped him from carrying out his plans.
''Ah, Agent Jack Bradley! It's been quite a while, hasn't it?" Elvira greeted with a hint of sarcasm, clearly not surprised by Jack's presence given the news of his retirement. "I honestly thought you were just messing around, but here you are, still contriving to meddle in our affairs. You've gotten yourself into some trouble now," she taunted, a sly smirk forming on her face.
Unfazed by Elvira's words, Jack stood firm, his gaze fixed on her. "I won't do anything until this is over. Both you and your boss need to pay for your crimes! Prison is where you belong," he swore sternly, keen to face whatever came his way.
Elvira chuckled, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "Oh Agent, unless you have definite proof against us, it's just empty threats. Perhaps you'd prefer me to muffle you right here, right now?" she flirtatiously teased, her gaze piercing into Jack's.
With grit burning in his veins, Jack made it clear he would not back down. "I will ensure that you are the one to go behind bars first, Elvira," he retorted, his voice laced with determination.
The tension between them escalated, transcending the boundaries of their surroundings. They exchanged blows, each displaying unexpected strength and resilience. Jack had never anticipated that a woman like Elvira would pose such a formidable challenge, but he refused to let it deter him. Despite being caught off guard, he fought back fiercely, unwilling to submit to her dominance. The clash between them intensified, their fists scrambling and their bodies closed off in a fierce struggle for control.
"You're skilled in fighting; maybe if you weren't a woman," Jack gasped, expressing his astonishment at Elvira's fighting abilities while still finding amusement in it.
"What do you mean, maybe? Go ahead, hit me, Special Agent Jack Bradley! Your opinions won't help you escape the Pier, because you won't make it out alive!" Elvira snapped, already angered by his mocking laughter.
"Let's see who can't escape from this place!" Jack said, regaining his composure.
Amidst the chaos surrounding them, Victor Juarez found an opportunity to reach his trusted companion, Elvira, who was struggling against Jack. He rescued her utilizing an automobile and quickly escaped, but Jack went on and pursued them, forcefully grabbing the steering wheel from Elvira's grasp.
"Attention, ladies, and gentlemen! Please make sure your seatbelts are securely fastened as we embark on this thrilling journey! Just a friendly reminder, any attempts to resist or fight back may, unfortunately, result in a catastrophic end for all of us." Jack calmly cautioned, his voice carrying a hint of nonchalance.
"Elvira! Take him down. This is our chance, do it now!" Juarez vehemently commanded, his urgency palpable.
Caught during their daring escape, Elvira hesitated to comply with Juarez's order. She understood that following the old man's instructions would seal their fate within the confines of the speeding vehicle - a fate she desperately wished to avoid, at least for the time being.
"Shoot him! What on earth are you waiting for? SHOOT him NOW!" Juarez's restlessness surfaced again as he reiterated his demand.
"If you do as he says, all three of us will meet an unfortunate end in this car. But if you cannot bring yourself to do it, I am more than willing to escort you to prison right now." Jack calmly interposed, offering an alternative course of action.
Upon reaching the expansive bridge of Zion City, Victor Juarez displayed boldness as he fired a shot at Jack's flank, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. This sudden loss of balance resulted in their car hurtling toward the chasm, eventually crashing into the depths of the vast and treacherous sea.
The operation they executed to trap Victor Juarez ultimately proved to be yet another poorly executed plan. Upon discovering Jack's interference in this covert operation, Director Watson urgently called him to his office.
"Your interference, in this case, could potentially lead to charges, retired Agent Bradley!" Director Watson indicted him fiercely.
"There is no proof to support your assertion that I hindered, Director," Jack calmly reacted, though he bore visible injuries as he grinned.
"I will get proof of your actions, and I will ensure that you face the consequences, even if it means your imprisonment!" Watson pressed.
"Well, you cannot simply accuse me based solely on the fact that you saw me in the hospital with some of your associates, nor do you have the authority to bring me here for questioning without valid grounds," Jack confidently retorted.
"Tell me, who disclosed the details of the operation to you? Was it former Director Robert Pearce?" Watson's claim caused Jack to momentarily cease his sarcastic demeanor. Due to Jack's denial to admit to Bob's involvement, Director Watson had no choice but to incarcerate him in their department's cell for the entire day, concealing the truth from his unsuspecting family, and anxiously anticipating his eventual return.
"Mom, where has Dad disappeared to? We've been sitting here for what feels like an eternity. It seems like we won't be able to make it to Taylor Allison's concert," Emily remarked, restlessness creeping into her voice as the minutes ticked by without any sign of her father.
"I've been trying to reach your father, but he's not answering his phone," Jack's wife lamented to her daughter, her tone a mixture of sorrow and frustration, growing increasingly agitated by both Jack's unexplained absence and his lack of communication.
During their apprehensive wait, they were caught off guard by the unexpected arrival of an agent from the Zion Federal Bureau. The agent extended an invitation for them to come to the bureau's office promptly, disclosing that Jack was being held there. Director Watson believed that Jack's family possessed the ability to serve as a stabilizing influence and provide clarity regarding his priorities, to prevent Jack from interfering with the Bureau's confidential operations.
"Mrs. Bradley," Director Watson addressed Beth, leading her and Emily through the hallways of the building toward Jack's detention facility. "I called for your presence here on behalf of Jack's request. Currently, he is locked up in our detention facility situated in the basement."
As the news sunk in, Beth's anxiety heightened, and she couldn't help but respond passionately to Director Watson's explanation.
"But today is my daughter's birthday! You cannot imprison my husband without just cause, Director. That goes against the law, and we have every right to question your actions."
Remaining calm and composed, Director Watson acknowledged Beth's concerns and reassured her with an explanation. "We do have a valid basis for detaining him, Mrs. Bradley. Your husband, even though retired, interfered with our operation last night. Being a former agent, this is indeed a serious offense, and I trust you are aware of the law I am referring to."
The weight of disappointment was not only felt by Beth but also by Emily, who had been looking forward to celebrating her birthday with friends. The sight of her father's current condition came as a shock, shattering the joyous atmosphere they had anticipated.
