Chapter Two - Shift

She left me in confusion, was I really locked up here for that long and did I really forget when my birthday? I guess that’s what happens when you are denied the right to freedom. The freedom that was stolen from me about 12 months ago, I have nothing left. The only thing I have left is my wolf; that’s the only thing they can’t take away from me. 

-flashback-

The door flew open making as the sound of heavy footsteps hitting the concrete floor echoed through the cold basement. Fear shook me, it was the first time he had seen me since he k-k, since the incident which happened I think a few weeks ago. Only his beta, came down here but this time the alpha and his beta barged in obviously in a foul mood. 

“Get up you little piece of shit.” The alpha spat as I was pulled to my feet by my feet. 

“Wh-what do you want alpha?” I asked, collecting myself.

“I was going to kill you, but seeing you now, so beautiful, I think I want to have a little fun with you.” He slyly answered with a sickening smirk forming on his face

“You can’t do this to your d-daughter, that is sick.” I shake.

“I can and will do anything I f*****g please.” He laughed “hold her down, she’s feisty, I can tell.”With that, the beta walked up to and pushed me on my old creaky bed, he took both my hands and tired them to the bed and did the same with my legs ensuring I wouldn’t run away. 

Normally, a wolf would easily be able to get free, however, because I hadn’t yet shifted, I was securely tied for them to do as they pleased.

I screamed and squirmed trying to loosen the hold of the rough material.

“Let me go please don’t, j-just kill me, please.” I cry. “You c-can’t take this away from me too”

“I can and I will, I am the alpha.” He growled slapping me hard to shut me up but failed, it only made me scream louder. I singular tear threatened to spill but I made sure it wouldn’t fall. They will not see me cry, they will not get that satisfaction. I’m strong, I will survive this, and when your old enough and have a new pack, you will get your revenge. I will seek vengeance, I just have to survive. Another blow brought me back to reality.

“Shut the f**k up and stop f*****g moving, it will end quicker.” He yelled.

“W-what will everyone think if they knew that you did this to girls who have done nothing wr-” I began but was interrupted, this time they struck me stomach continually punching and kicking me. After the fifteenth blow to the head and stomach, my lights went out. Who knows what they did while I was out. All I knew was that they stole my innocence that was meant for my mate.

-end of flashback-

Tears flooded my eyes as I curled up in a ball hugging my knees close to my chest. I had to get out of here, I cant wait for my prince charming to same me. No one knows about me, and no one will be looking for me. Life isn’t a fairy tale. Prince charmings don’t exist. But I do and I don’t need saving by someone else, I can do that myself.

The Beta barged into the room once again.

“What do you want?” I growled.

“You’d think you would learn to talk with a little respect.” he laughed “I am here to give you food… but if you don’t want it then starve.”

“Place it on the floor then and then get out.” He walked over to me and lifted my chin up digging his finger into it drawing blood.

“And don’t forget the Alpha is throwing a party to celebrate the lunas pregnancy. All our allies will be here meaning you better be f*****g quiet.”

Hazel grew furious “rip his head off”

“I cant hazel I haven’t shifted yet, and if I did we would be killed.”

“Are you even listening, you pathetic slut” He yelled.

“I heard, I’ll be quiet. Leave and get ready you don’t want to be late, do you?” I said rolling my eyes. As I said that he left slamming the door him. I waited for the click of the lock but it never came, I waited 2, 3, 4 minutes before checking if it was open. I walked up towards the door and turned the cold metal knob and to my surprise, he forgot to lock the door.

“Tonight is the night Bella, we will be finally free” Hazel smiled. “we will wait until the music vibrated through the floorboards and wait until it reeks of alcohol. At that stage, everyone will be too drunk to notice us running out the door”

“We won’t be able to escape Haz, they wouldn’t be that stupid for everyone to be that drunk”

“They will, they always are when there is a party”l

“Fine, I guess this is our only chance. Its tonight or never.”

Two hours had past and by that stage drunken wolves were scattered all around the pack house. There were many different scents that were at this party, some were from wolves belonging to this pack and others I couldn't recognise. This was it we were finally gonna escape, everyone would be busy and no one would notice we were gone. By the time anyone realised I would be king gone. I kept on repeating this to myself, but what was unusual was that Hazel's mind was someplace else. She seemed excited and on edge, I couldn't explain it even if I wanted to. From the time I've known her, she has never been so excited. 

"Hazel focus." 

"Sorry Bella, I-I just finished feel something is going to happen soon." 

"Just push it aside, we need to concentrate or else we won't be able to escape" 

"You're right let's do this. It's now or nev-" 

Hazel was cut short as a seething pain erupted coursing through my entire body. My body began to contort as bones cracked and beads of sweat formed over my body until I was drenched. The sound of clothes ripping and tearing followed shortly after. I tried to be quiet. I tried to hold have my screams and tears. But it was of no use, no matter how hard I tried, blood-curdling scream after blood-curdling scream came from my mouth. I was shaking, and I was burning up from the inside, I was sure I was going to die. My plan of escape was over before it even began. As soon as I let out my last scream, the door burst open and two men came in; it was none other than my father and his beta.
