Chapter 2: The silent Castle

-Alvara's Pov-

"Do you have any plans for today Vara?"

My brother asked as we arrived at the dinning hall, we sat down and with a snap of his fingers, the food was instantly on the table

"I am planning to visit Duke Cambridge of the Solaris dukedom"

I sigh while eating my food, our breakfast was a simple brioche pancake with mixed berries and whipped cream, paired with Earl Grey tea

"They're having a fued with the immortal dynasty vampires to the west and if we don't sort it out quickly"

"It may lead to war?"

"Yeah..."

I let go of my fork and rub my temple... It's hard maintaining peace in a kingdom when there's Old grown men picking a fight with an ancient queen

My brother groaned and rolled his eyes

"Why are they fighting anyway?"

"That's what I'm going to figure out... I'll have to go to Solaris in order to find that out.."

"I can accompany you"

I shake my head at his request

"No... please stay here, I can handle myself perfectly brother"

"bu-"

"It's alright.. if they don't listen to me then I'll fight them myself, I've brought down dukes before, I can handle it plus, I need you to sort some documents that the Stanley brothers sent"

He sighed and nodded

"Alright then.."

-Lucas's Pov-

As we finished our meals, Alvara immediately left to go to the Solaris dukedom to the north...

I helped her get on her horse and waved as the stallion sprint away.. I am once again left alone in this silent castle

Not a single servant can be seen in this castle.. Most of our old servants tried to murder me and my sister, either through poison, or straight assassination.. that's why we made up our minds to never get servants ever again

I mostly prepare our necessities since Vara is always out sorting the troubles in our kingdom

As I walked on the endless hallways of our silent castle.. my memories wander, to the time our old village was attacked

~FLASHBACK~

I was running around frantically, the question 'where is *****?' keeps repeating inside my head

"*****!*****!"

My mind was reeling and my breath was coming in short pants... 'please...' I cling onto the last hope within me

I sprint through the rubble of our fallen village, jumping over the countless bodies that lay on the ground

And when I turn around the corner...I felt my world fall apart..

I snap back to reality when I reached the door to my office

Sighing and turning the knob

only to see Angelita

"Oh, how can I help you Angelita?"

She turned to me..a soft smile on her face and worry in her eyes

"You're presence was weak and vulnerable child... What's wrong?"

She opened her arms warmly

Angelita was a spirit witch, whom I've saved from the wicked schemes of Humans

She had agreed to serve us in exchange for saving her life

she was like a mother to me and Alvara, always looking out for us

"I'm fine...just.."

I sigh, knowing there's no point in lying cause she can see right through people..she is after all a very powerful spirit witch

Angelita frowned

"You are everything but fine..but ofcourse, if you are not ready to open up..then I won't push you dear"

She walks closer and hugs me..rubbing my back lovingly

"If you ever need to talk.. I'm just here dear"

She pulled back, smiled and vanished into the air..leaving me and my thoughts once in this silent castle..
