chapter 3

329 Words
As the days went by, Farha and her friends continued to navigate the harsh realities of street life. One day, they stumbled upon a lucrative opportunity – a high-end jewelry store with a security system that seemed vulnerable. Kulthum, ever the strategist, mapped out a plan. "Alright, here's what we'll do. Mariam, you'll create a diversion at the front. Layla, you'll take care of the security cameras. Farha, you'll get the jewelry." Farha's instincts screamed caution, but the promise of a big score was tempting. "Let's do it," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. The group put their plan into action. Mariam shouted and gestured, drawing the security guards away from the back door. Layla disabled the cameras, and Farha slipped inside, her heart racing. She grabbed handfuls of glittering jewels, stuffing them into her bag. But just as she turned to leave, the alarms blared, and the lights flickered. Farha's heart sank. They'd been caught. The group sprinted out of the store, Farha clutching her bag of jewels. They weaved through the crowded streets, but the security guards were hot on their heels. As they ran, Farha's bag got tangled in a market stall, spilling jewels everywhere. The guards closed in, and Farha knew they were in trouble. "Split up!" Kulthum yelled, as they scattered in different directions. Farha found herself cornered by the guards. She tried to bluff her way out, but they were having none of it. One of them grabbed her arm, twisting it behind her back. "You're coming with us," he growled. Farha struggled, but it was no use. She was caught, and she knew the consequences would be severe. As she was dragged away, Farha's thoughts turned to her friends. Had they escaped? Would they come for her? The guards tossed her into a dingy cell, the door slamming shut behind her. Farha's heart sank. She was in big trouble, and she didn't know if she'd ever see her friends again.
