Devastation/Growing Stronger

**Jessie’s POV-Age 12 I came home from school, and made my way to the training fields. Mommy and daddy weren’t in the house, so I figured they were there. As I made my way to the training field, I could smell blood and I heard Beta Kevin talking. It could hear him well enough until I got closer, then I heard him say “As soon as Jessie is home, bring her to me. I will rid this pack of the last member of the former Alpha’s family. We don’t need a spoiled, shellfish, little girl as our future Alpha Female. I will be the Alpha.” I peeked around the corner scared of what I may see, but I had a feeling that mommy and daddy were gone. I couldn’t feel my bond with them anymore. My eyes roamed the training field until they landed on mommy and daddy lying on the ground with their throats cut and blood all around them. My eyes blurred and my throat began burning with the tears that were building up. I knew that if they found me, they would kill me too.  Before anyone could see me, I turned and made a beeline for the forest. I know that I will have to leave the pack and become a lone wolf until I can find a nice pack to take me in. I will return and avenge my parent’s murder! Right as I reach the edge of the forest, I hear someone yell, “Alpha, Jessie’s here. She’s running into the forest!” At that, I shifted into my white wolf. My wolf’s name is Moon and she hates when she thinks someone is going to hurt me. She’s very protective, since I first shifted when I was 11 and we have been able to bond a lot. I may be small, but that also makes me a lot faster. And with the help of my Alpha blood, we can outrun them. I’ve done it dozens of times before when they played hide and seek with me.  Jessie: We just have to think like we are playing hide and seek. We can can’t let them catch us. Moon: Don’t worry, they won’t be catching you as long as I am around. We will get out of here and I will make sure you are safe! Jessie: Thanks, Moon. I love you. You are all I have now. Moon: I love you too. Now, give me control so that I can make sure you’re safe. Jessie: Ok. And with that, my wolf’s eyes turned completely black as I gave her full control. Most wolves are completely out of control when their wolf is in full control like this, but not Moon and me. We learned how to make sure that we don’t become just the animal, a wild feral thing.  Moon took off like a bullet through the forest. I could vaguely hear the sound of wolves chasing after me but they sounded like they were pretty far back. We continued run for at least an hour when I heard Beta Kevin yell, “Let her go! She has crossed the border without permission from the Alpha, she is no longer a member of this pack. Let the rogues kill her for us.”  Jessie: Moon, I’m scared. I didn’t think about the rogues. What are we going to do? Moon: Jessie, it’s ok. I will make sure we are safe. Remember how Dad always said we are special? Jessie: Yeah but daddy’s gone. He will never get tell me why we are special. He said he was waiting until we found our mate. Mommy and Daddy are gone........ Moon: It’s ok, Jessie. I will explain when we are older but for now. Leave me in control and you can mourn. Jessie: Is that ok to do? Won’t that make us lose control?  Moon: We won’t. That’s one of the ways we are special, Jessie. Just trust me, mourn our family, and rest. Jessie: I love you, Moon. Moon: I love you too, my favorite human. Jessie: Ha ha ha. I am your only human. Moon: But I made you smile. With that, I broke down and cried for my parents, my best friend who I left behind, losing my home, losing everything. My heart filled with devastation and regret for not being there to save them. Axel’s POV-Age 15 I woke up this morning and started my training routine. I run 50 miles a day, and then to the gym to lift weights and practice my fighting skills. I want to make Zeus proud. He and his mate, Cristin, officially adopted me both legally and by the pack laws two years ago. I had an actual family now and they treated me like I was their son. In the last two years, I learned that family is not about whose blood you shared but the people that stood by you, took care of you, loved you, and treated you the way you deserved. Zeus and Cristin were my parents, and I love them. They restored my trust in adults over the years, but I am still struggling with trusting too many people. Zeus has been training me to be Alpha since I am his son, I am the Future Alpha. I had to learn to accept what comes with that title, which has been quite weird for me. I was a nobody who didn’t know anything about being a wolf, let alone how to be an Alpha.  It took me months to even allow anyone but Zeus and Cristin to come anywhere near me.  In the last two years, I have become the top warrior, tracker, and my senses are stronger than all of the wolves my age. Zeus says it is because I shifted so young and that they just shifted at 13. Zeus told me that because I was accepted as his son, the Alpha blood was transferred to me which also made me stronger and gave me advantages too. He keeps saying that I am going to be the strongest Alpha to live but that my wolf was waiting for something. He thinks my wolf needs his mate to become as strong as he thinks I will be. We have talked about my mate and Future Luna but it still scares me to think that I will become that attached to someone else. I love the fact that the people who are close to me can be counted on one hand, they are all I need. I don't need to have some girl around that I will have to protect too. I know that I will have to protect the whole pack and that they all will rely on me, and I will do that. However, the only people allowed in my heart are Zeus, Cristin, and my best friend Isaiah.  Flashback, 2 years ago: I was sitting on a bench at a stupid pack dance that Zeus made me come to.  Axel: Duke, why the f**k do we have to be here? This is dumb as hell. Duke: Dad said we have to as Future Alpha. And besides, he thinks that our mate might be here. But she’s not. Axel: How do you know? We won’t know that til we are 18. Duke: I just know, I can sense it. Axel: Ok weirdo. Whatever you say. I saw a tall, blonde haired guy begin walking toward me and rolled my eyes. Here we go again. “Hi, I’m Isaiah. What are you doing over here? All the girls over there want to dance with you, especially Tina.” “Yeah, I don’t need that s**t. I’m good here. I am only here because my dad made me come.” “Oh, so you’re Axel. I was wondering when I would meet you,” he said. “And you shouldn’t cuss. The adults hate it.” “Yeah, I don’t really care if they like it or not and I don't really like meeting new people, so...” I replied, hoping he’d take the hint. He sat right next to me instead. Nope, this kid isn’t very observant. Duke: Talk to him, I like him and sense he will be someone we will be close to and need in the future. Axel: Well that’s a first from you, Mr. It’s-me-and you-only. Duke: Shut up and talk to him. “Talking to your wolf?” Isaiah asked. “Yeah, he thinks I should talk to you.” “Really?” He asked excitedly, “You are the first person who is willing to sit and talk with me. Everyone here thinks I am too much of a nerd and because I’m gay they want nothing to do with me. I don't really fit in with anyone.” “Well, now you have me as your friend, bro.” I told him. Poor guy must be getting bullied, and I am not ok with that bullshit at all. Honestly, why do people care if he is gay? He is who is. Those fuckers need to grow up.  “Holy s**t! Thank you, man. And no, worries you aren’t my type.” He said laughing. “Well, damn, and here I thought I was the hottest guy here.” I replied. He just laughed at me. We spent the whole dance just talking and sharing our life stories with each other. End of Flashback “Hey, Axel! Wait up, bro,” Isaiah yelled. “You were supposed to wait for me so that I can work out with you. I am your Future Beta after all.” Isaiah has gotten stronger since training with me, and after taking on several wolves, was appointed the Future Beta by Zeus and me. “Well you don’t get a six pack and a v-line by sleeping until 8, man. You know I start at 7.” “Well not all of us are as strong as you, Axel. Or as f*****g fast, how’d you already finish running?” “I’m still working on growing stronger, faster, smarter, and being the best. You know I won’t give up until I achieve all my goals.” I said pouring all my confidence into every word. ”Alright, I get it. Lets hit the gym.”
