Amaria's POV
After my father's and I talk I feel better. I know that Kenya wasn't pretending to be my friend, that almost all of our memories were genuine. We make our way back to the main hall, Colton spots me when I walk in.
"Little one, do you mind if we have a word," He asks after he makes his way over to me.
My father steps away, "Sure, what's up?"
"I just wanted to apologize to you. I shouldn't have behaved that way, towards you, knowing you had a mate. Will you forgive me?"
I frown, watching his expression drop when he sees mine. He starts to say something, but I cut him off with a laugh, "Of course, I forgive you. That woman is my best friend, if you hurt her you'll have to deal with me." I conjure up a ball of water to emphasize my threat.
"Okay, little one," he laughs, bringing me into a hug. I push him off after a few seconds.
"We cannot stay long. Let's go talk to Kenya about using some of her warriors," he nods, walking next to me. We round a corner, everyone coming into view.
Calissa strides toward me, grabbing my hand, "I have to show you something."
My vision blurs and I'm standing in the middle of a battlefield. Dead warriors, from both sides, are all over the ground. Someone screams, I turn to find the source. There I am, holding my father's lifeless body clueless to Sariyah standing behind me, sword raised. When she swings to finish me off the scene changes.
Again, I'm in the middle of a battlefield. There is another scream, but it's not mine. When I find the source, it's Ash, holding a lifeless Calissa. Sariyah is behind him, sword raised. Before she swings, I launch a boulder at her. Ash stands up, charging towards her with his sword, as he ends Sariyah's life the scene changes once more.
This time I am inside of a tent. There are a few faces I do not recognize, but I am at the head of the table. Ash, Keya, Colton, Calissa, and my father are there as well. We are going over our battle strategy when a warrior bursts into the tent and yells that we are being attacked. Grabbing the closest weapon I can find, I charge out of the tent. Slashing down anyone that I do not know. As and Kenya are always in my line of sight. I look over and Sariyah is fighting my dad. She gets the advantage, knocking him down.
"You've gone soft, Stallin," she says before she ends his life. Her warriors continue the fight while she retreats. A woman stops by my dad, checking his pulse before shaking her head. Seeing this made me fight harder, cutting down anyone who stood between Sariyah and me. I shoot boulders and shards of ice at the enemy warriors. When one falls another takes their place. We're outnumbered, but that doesn't stop me. Sariyah sends a fireball my way, but I deflect it. I send one back and her eyes widen. I push harder, trying to get to my parents' murderer, but I can't. I lose sight of her and the vision ends.
Calissa releases my hand, stepping back from me. I look at my dad, trying to keep my emotions in check. I fail, a single tear sliding down my face. Twice, I watched my father die. I will not let her succeed in taking someone close to me. Not him or Calissa.
Squaring my shoulders, I make my way to Kenya, "Will you help me save my realm?"
"I wouldn't want anything else," she replies with a serious expression.
Turning to the crowd I say, "I will give every warrior here the same choice I gave Colton's warriors. You can help me take back my realm, or you can stay with your loved ones. I will not force anyone to fight beside me. I am the rightful heir to Maldows Isles. If you are with me, step forward."
One by one her warriors step forward, kneeling in front of me. I raise my hand, permitting them to stand.
” Thank you all so much. This means a lot to,” I motion for Kenya to come closer.
When she does I have her take us to her war room. Calissa steps forward and fills everyone in on her vision. My dad never breaks eye contact with me throughout the explanation.
After she finishes I look at everyone's face, gauging their reactions, sorrow fills them all.
“It is more than likely I will not be hereafter Sariyah is gone. It's vital we cannot let the last part of the vision happen. I will not let her escape,” my dad says. Knowing he might be gone soon only hurts me.
“Dad, we don’t know if they will not even come true! Calissa’s visions may never come true,” I plead with him, but his mind is already set. It's like he's accepting his fate before we come up with another solution.
He walks over to me, pulling me into his arms, “Little lily, whatever the Goddess has planned will always be what’s best for you. We may question her, but we can never change it.”
His voice breaks a little as he speaks, “Stay out of the battle,” I plead with him.
“You know I cannot do that,” he says tilting his head in Ash’s direction, “If it was Ash, do you think he would stay?”
I shake my head, Ash doing the same. If he is going to be a part of this battle then we need to move faster. Maybe that would throw Sariyah off of our trail. Not even a second after I made that decision a horn sounds overhead. Kenya face pales as she reaches for a sword on the wall.
“Maltic is under attack,” she screams.
