Chapter 5

When my day is over, I head back home to get ready Roman said he’d come pick me up so we could figure out where to go from here I have to tell him everything I found out yesterday. As I pull up to my house, I see Roman’s car outside.

He’s early must be excited to see you.

Oh, shut up.

I walk over to his car, and he rolls down the window.

“Get in we need to get going.” is all he says before rolling the window back up. I walk over to the passenger side of the car we have another long awkward car ride to his house I never know what to do or say around him. All I can think is the moon goddess defiantly made a mistake. Once we’re at his house he leads me upstairs to his office where I’d found him before. This time however it’s different to my surprise there’s a woman sitting on his desk with her legs crossed, she’s older than me and beautiful she has big green eyes and long blonde hair. At first, I’m too stunned to process what’s going on then all I feel is fury another woman is waiting for my mate sitting on his desk. I take a few deep breaths to calm myself down not knowing why I’m feeling so possessive over him. Then I look up he’s staring at her with black eyes and the anger I feel inside is written on his face.

“Sloan, what are you doing back here?”

“Well after last night I came to apologize.” She says seductively

LAST NIGHT? What happened last night? I want to ask him but considering all that happened between us is awkward silence I know it isn’t my place.

Like hell, it isn’t your place why was SHE with Our mate last night I’ll kill her

Avalon calm down we don’t own him

See Araya that’s where you're wrong he’s our mate he BELONGS to Us like we belong to him and you may not know that but he does

“After last night you should be staying the hell away from me.” He says his voice a low growl. “Now you should be leaving so I can talk to my MATE in private.”

“Of course, Alpha my apologies I’ll come back later.” She says hopping off his desk and strutting out of the room.

She better not come back, or she’ll have me to deal with

Ava! Calm down!

Araya I’m not gonna calm down and neither are you he’s OURS

I try to calm myself down and take deep breaths, but I can feel Avalon’s anger it's consuming me. I can hear Roman talking to me but all I see is red.

“WHO was that?” I say through gritted teeth, well not me exactly, but my body for sure, what is going on? “How dare she be here acting like her Luna doesn’t exist,” I growl out. Roman walks over to me slowly and grabs my hand most of my anger begins to dissipate.

“Calm down little wolf.” He whispers and I feel my body come back to me.

“What just happened?” I say more to myself than to him.

“Your wolf took over. We’re werewolves our wolf side makes us very territorial and when our emotions over come us , our wolves can take us over. Seeing another woman with your mate made her mad so she took over.”

“I didn’t know she could do that.”

“After a while, you’ll learn to tame the beast.” Now that I’m finally calm, I realize how close he is to me he has me trapped between the wall and his hard chest with one hand on my waist and the other still holding mine. When he realizes the position, we’re in he clears his throat and lets go of me. “Uhm- we should talk.”

“Yeah, I have a lot to tell you.” We sat down on the couch, and I told Roman about everything that happened to me yesterday I told him about how my mom had been a shell for over a decade and how she and my father had bound my wolf with the help of a witch, I also told him about Avalon and how the mate bond brought her out and how next full moon will be my first shift. He sat there quietly just letting me speak the entire time.

“Well from the sounds of it by the next full moon you’ll be a normal werewolf.”

“Speaking of which since I didn’t grow up around any of this, I was hoping you could teach me about being a werewolf.”

“There’s not much to it but we can get you ready for your shift and I can train you werewolves need to be physically strong packs are always at war with each other fighting over territory or in battles against rouges. You should know how to defend yourself.”

“That’d be great. What are rouges?”

“Rouges are wolves without packs they’re dangerous, they have no rules, no code to live by no respect for alliances or alphas.”

“What are alphas and packs?”

“It’s gonna be a long day, you have more to learn than I thought.”
