Cassandra’s POV Hearing those words, my heartbeat quickened. Brittany’s eyes gleamed with satisfaction as she took in my reaction. I swallowed hard, forcing my face into a blank mask. She didn’t know. She couldn’t know. I turned back to my locker, grabbing my books without a word. Ignoring her was my best bet. “Oh, so you’re not going to deny it?” Brittany taunted, her voice rising to make sure everyone nearby could hear.
