It’s been over three weeks since the rock climbing accident, and to my greatest annoyance, Cassandra has grown incredibly close to Lucien.
I have watched her for weeks go on silly outings with him, laugh at his jokes and grow closer to him. Every time I saw them together, I always felt like I had an itch I couldn’t scratch, a pressure in my chest that refused to relieve me.
I didn’t really hate Cassandra. Not really. I hated what she was doing to herself.
All I wanted was for Cassandra to get stronger, not use a guy as a crutch. My goal was to break her so much that she chose to fight for herself, to defend herself. She may not have a wolf, but I could see she had a strong spirit, a strong will that reminded me of me once upon a time.
