Cassandra’s POV “Cassandra!” My mom’s voice yanked me out of my dreamless sleep, her voice loud and irritating. “Why are you sleeping like someone who got run over by a truck? Get up!” “Because I feel like I got run over,” I grumbled, my face buried in the pillow. My entire body ached, and my head felt like it had been stuffed with trash. “Get up now! It’s already past noon,” she snapped, her footsteps retreating down the hallway. I groaned, forcing myself to sit up. My body protested against every movement I took. I felt sore in places I didn’t even know could hurt. I glanced at the clock on my bedside table and winced. Mom wasn’t kidding. She was indeed right when she said it was already past noon. Great.
