Chapter 6:

Jayden's pov ... By morning the next day, we had three frontline candidates. Raya my on and off mistress, an upcoming Hollywood actress, Daisy and an aspiring super model Lola. But that was just the start. By the end of the week my team had sixteen dates lined up. This whole marriage stuff would have been easy if it wasn't a permanent deal. I am definitely doomed. Don't get me wrong, an Uno must marry, there must be an heir. But I'd hoped to delay the inevitable for as long as I could. Unfortunately, Fate had other plans. I'd been really busy this past week, but I have finally freed up my schedule for the dates. The front runner is Raya. There is a reason she is the only woman that has survived more than a month with me. My lawyers had spent nights and days drawing up contracts that also includes the rules that must be followed to a T. There will be no divorce, Marchetti's frown on such things, even in extenuating circumstances. Everyone was busy running around, trying to meet up with my numerous requests, background checks that needs to be done yesterday and more. The woman I choose would only need to state her conditions, which is limited to a very short list, that includes the payment and renumeration package. There is a limit on how much they can ask for. But the offer is five million, with one point five million paid upfront after the wedding , another one point five after the first child and two million after the second. I want three kids and a happy home. Even though there would be no love, the kids should at least feel loved. The wife will also get a monthly allowance for shopping up to two hundred thousand. She cannot ever be caught cheating. I am not a big fan of blondes, so none of the women are blondes and they can never dye their hair blonde it's a deal breaker for me. All the women I date are either brunette's, dark haired or red haired. No blondes. Some of the women were either mafia born or involved with it one way or another. The weeks been full of dates, but they have all been annoying to me most of just ended grating on my nerves with requests. "I will need an assistant, a chef and a ..." That's not going to happen." I said cutting off date number five. "What I can't cook to save myself !!" She said in a scandalized tone. "You won't need to, I have my own chef and you surely don't need an assistant to f*ck and surely no one will be assisting you in childbirth." I said sternly. Number nine: My family is very very close, so I would be coming in with them. That'll be my mom, my stepsister, my cousin and my stepdad. Just the four of them. You won't even know they are around, they are practically invincible. I stared silently at the chestnut haired model, she was almost as tall as I was. But I wasn't interested in crap or extras in my marriage. "That's good to note, my team will reach out to you soon." I said. Number thirteen, another model, but this one was a super model. "As long as marrying you won't derail my career, then we are good. But I must warn you, I go no where without my nutritionist, personal trainer and my dog sitter ... I own two pekingese and one Japanese chin. She said while rolling her eyes seductively at me. This is definitely the last one I would entertain, I was at my wits end. I thought as I gave her a small smile. Today, I was having lunch with Raya, my preferred choice. I watched the sexy brunette make her way towards my table in the VIP area of the restaurant. Raya is the type of woman, some men refer to as an acquired taste. She is beautiful and curvy the way I like them. But she's become really clingy over the past year. she smiled at me and I nodded in response. I don't do clingy at all. She was obviously coming from her office. Her white top clung to her body like a second skin, with the top three buttons undone. Her ample breasts almost spilling out when she leaned over the table to air kiss my cheeks. "Raya" how have you been? I asked. public displays of affection are completely out of the question when you're with me. I cannot be claimed by any one woman. I will not allow that. "fine and work is fine."she said as the waiter brought us some appetizers. Can I come home with you tonight? She asked the minute, the waiter was out of earshot. No. I said flatly. " But I've missed you so much.." "Not another word on that Raya" I warned, cutting off her next words which was going to be, please or why. "I got the new shipment and I wanted to ask for another .." I didn't let her finish, I pinned her with a cold glare. " You're not ready.." "You keep saying that, but we've surpassed our projections for the year.We do this every year." She grumbled loudly. I said nothing my silence spoke louder than words. I really didn't have time for her questions today. I suppose I should play nice today, considering my dire situation. But I don't, I don't care, if she isn't suitable, I'll find someone that is. She was so far gone, she was stomping on my nerves. "This was a mistake." I announced, then gently took off the napkin tucked into my collar and got to my feet. "Jayden please, I'm sorry please don't leave me again, please. Please." Her pleas fell on deaf ears. I'll be in the car I said to her as I began to walk away. She quickly picked up her things and followed me out. When we got into the car, she went on her knees in-between my legs. But I stopped her, I wasn't in the mood to be sucked off by her. I just stared at her, for an uncomfortable second, before I began to speak. "Raya", I said after we'd eaten in silence. If I need to get married, say tomorrow and you are to be my bride. What would be your conditions?" She stared at me in shock. Her jaw fell open then closed and opened again, like a fish. I watched her as shock, turned to realisation, then unending opportunity. She squealed, then tried to reign in her excitement. Then she paused and frowned as she realised, this wasn't a real marriage proposal. It wasn't a marriage proposal at all. But a possible marriage contract negotiation. A thoughtful expression fell over her face. "Fineee." She said failing again to reign in her excitement. I'll like to see what's being proposed first, but I'll need about ten million, and a monthly allowance. plus, Vacation allowance, babysitting allowance, housekeeping allowance. Now it was my turn to stare at her, mentally taking note of her requests. She smiled a little, suddenly seeming shy then asked. "Or do you plan on being faithful?" We both knew the answer to that. But I was pissed, you take liberties, that weren't given to you Raya. Be careful not to push yourself away from me. "That's a yes, on infidelity, then and that's why I would need all those other allowances. My face was now a cold mask, as I slowly let out a cold smile. As the minutes went by, it was becoming clearer than day, that Raya is the worst candidate for me. She quickly cleared her throat and said, "but like I said earlier, I would like to see the proposed contract first". The next three weeks went by in a flurry of activities, vetting and revetting, prospective brides. Background checks and interviews. We went through different prospective brides, but I still haven't found a good fit. It was mostly because I haven't found the one that was meek enough or that i though would be obedient enough to be my wife. My marriage, my house, my money , my rules. Its that simple.
