Hilda was awakened by the rays of the sun illuminating her room from her window".
'Ugh, what do I even do today?' She said to herself.
Her phone beeped. She picked it up from the drawer beside her bed. It was a message notification from Jacqueline; she was apologising for yesterday's outburst.
Hilda heaved a sigh before placing the phone back on the drawer. She stood up from her bed, with little strength, grabbed a towel and headed to the shower. She turned on the shower, and as little drops from it fell on her skin, she felt calm.
She thought about how her life had been these past weeks; about how she was forced into this arranged marriage. She desperately wished she could go back to her previous life before all this.
