“By taking certain aspects of his life away from him,” Stella said, demolishing the last of her Fettuccine Carbonara and leaning back in her seat with the look of someone most satisfied, you reduce what had once been a positive self-image and make him feel even more vulnerable and powerless. This is a very good place in which to have him and appointing his assistant over him in the company he himself created is the perfect way for you start putting him there. I assume you do not intend to allow him to continue working there — even in a reduced or menial capacity.”
