My eyes darted through the office of the strange CEO and back to Daisy’s face. Why did the strange CEO order us to follow him into the restaurant? The most part, his office?
The question I’d asked myself repeatedly for over five minutes since Daisy and I entered this office. We were seated right in front of his desk without having any idea why.
“Your CVs,” the strange CEO said.
“Eira,” Daisy tapped my thigh, calling my attention. “He is asking for our CVs.”
“Oh,” I stretched out the files to him. The man behind the CEO took the files and handed them to the CEO.
Daisy and I watched as the CEO flipped through our files, his eyes scanning. I lost count of the number of times his brow raised with shock. Seems he has been struck by lightning with each page that he flipped.
