Fortunately, the judge didn’t decide on trial. He talks with all of us and with Dylan. He positioned a psychologist to talk with Dylan and he decided that it was better to stay with me and Sam. And it was for the best. For Sarah, he allowed Dylan whatever she wanted something that she didn’t like. Even if she f***s her lawyer she didn’t help her take Dylan or Sam back. That’s something I heard her say to someone on the phone when I was in the hall and she didn’t see me. As I and Sam have known from the beginning Sarah comes back because her life is not how she expected and not knowing where else to go she thought Sam. But when he is not going to be with her anymore she says to make him suffer. But she didn’t expect that Sam was doing a great job with Dylan and everybody who knew him would support him.
“Are you hungry? Dinner is ready” I say as I walk to the living room. My boys watch football.
“Yeah baby five minutes and it goes for a break,” Sam says and I hear my phone for the kitchen. Unknown number
“Hello?”
“Natalie honey?”
“Mom?”
“Yes, honey it’s me. Sorry, I call from another phone. Are you all okay?”
“Yes, we are good. You?”
“We are great. And I have great news too.”
“What news?”
“Andrew finds his friend from New York. That one who is connected with art galleries”
“Yes, Mom I remember. Andrew said if he finds him, he will talk about me”
“Well, he did. He is here in London now. He saw some of your paintings here that we have. And I show him what I have on my phone. Guess what? He is excited. Next week he will be in New York and he wants to see you” Oh my God, oh my God
“Really?”
“Yes, honey. He has your number, he will call you for an appointment.”
“ That’s a great mom. Thank you and thank Andrew for me”
“On it,” she says thrilled
“Mom. I don’t have to know how you’ll thank him” she laughs. You talk a little until the boys come into the kitchen
“How is your mom?” Sam asks
“She is good. She calls me for some good news”
“Yeah? What news?” Both of them look at me
“Andrew has a friend who has connections in a lot of art galleries in the word”
“Yes you have told me”
“Well, he is in London and met Andrew. He saw some of my paintings and he is excited. He wants to meet me”
“Wow that’s fantastic Mom,” Dylan says excitedly
“Yes, that’s a great baby,” Sam says and he comes closer and hugs me lifting me.
He put me down on my feet and kissed me
“OK, guys you can continue in your room. Dad leaves mom tells us details” We sit at the table and start eating and I also say what happened. About my trip to New York my meeting with Mr. Hall.
“Don’t worry Mom you will do it great”
“Thanks, sweety,” I say to Dylan and start to take the dishes. Dylan helps with the dishes and then returns to watch football. When finished he said good night and walked upstairs to his bedroom.
“Come here baby,” Sam says and sits next to him and he hugs me. I rest my head on his shoulder.
“Are you nervous?” God, he knows me so good
“A little. But I will manage”
“That’s my girl. You will do fine. And don’t stress about us. You have to go to New York. Stay as much as you need”
“Thank you, Sam. You are always so supportive”
“Art is something that you love. You have a chance now to grow and shine through your work. I want to support you as I can”
He kisses my head
“I will miss you. But you have to go, I know that you’ll make me proud”
“I love you, Sam. Thank you for your words, which give me strength to move on.”
“We have to support each other. You have done it until now. It’s my turn to support now” We sat like that hug and kiss for a while in the living room and then we went upstairs to our room. We make love until early in the morning. He has no work tomorrow. And he is unstoppable when he has a break from work.
