The Elite Wolves Games

Skyler

                Listening as the announcer begins the same speech, we have heard a dozen times training and he reads the match off of the events of the day. First, it is hand on hand combat with no shifting allowed then it is a 5-mile race again with no shifting after that it moves on to target practice. The listing goes as follows:

                Ravenclaw vs Riverstone

                Sandstrom vs Pale Moon

                Snake Bloom vs Starlight

                Havanans vs Blood Valley

                Silvertip Point vs Canyon Peak

                Riverstone vs Starlight

                Ravenclaw vs Pale Moon

                Sandstorm vs Canyon Peak

                Snake Bloom vs Havanans

                Blood Valley vs Silvertip Point

Once the list is given off, we clear off the stage and head over to the sparring grounds. Alpha Jordan was clear that I do not shift throughout the entire match which means I either forfeit some of the matches or continuously fight in human form. I am one of the last to fight so I cheer on Ryker when it’s her turn to fight. Her stance and technique are on par. She is fighting a warrior from Canyon Peak and I have to admit this guy looks tough, but he failed to factor that his opponent isn’t just a girl who can’t fight. After about five minutes he’s down and bloody. Ryker comes over saying that her mate is near then takes off after we do our dance. I will have to look for her later I have to stay for my fight.

Zander

                I am standing in shock as this black-haired blue-eyed girl took down a warrior from Canyon Peak. He’s left in a bloodied heap and she’s ran over to her packmate laughing and giggling. They do some sort of dance and then she disappears somewhere. I look around and notice that Jason has disappeared as well. I wonder if that girl that just fought is his mate. I’ll have to ask him later. I turn my attention back to the fight as I see that the ginger girl is next. As I’m watching her, I notice that her Alpha is standing right behind her watching her and I’m starting to get pissed. Why the hell am I getting so worked up over another Alpha watching his warrior. 

“Because that girl is special.” Tristan growls in my head, “Watch how she fights, and you’ll see.” 

“How the hell do you know she is special?” I question him and I watch closely as the fight starts. She’s fast I can tell that by looking at her but what I don’t expect is it to be over so soon if I had blinked, I would have missed the fight. “Holy s**t!” I mumble. 

“Told you so,” Tristan purrs in my head. 

“Dude what happened,” Max asks as he stares in awe. 

“I don’t know man but I’m going to find out,” I say as I get up to follow after the girl from Silvertip Point. As I head after her, I smell the most amazing smell there is Jasmine and Roses. All of the sudden it disappears, and I growl in frustration. “Where the hell did, she go?” I ask Kevin. 

“I don’t know,” he grumbles.

Skyler

                “Well, that was boring,” I mumble to Silverclaw. 

“Well, if we were up against an Alpha, it would have been very entertaining” Silverclaw agrees in my head. I look up and see my Alpha staring at me and I give him a smile and walk away. I have about 3 hours to get ready for the race and I decide that I’m going to go check the perimeter before the race. I can feel that someone is following me as I head into the woods, so I pretend that I don’t notice as I patrol the area. I just know by the scent that the person is from Riverstone pack. Since the 5-mile race is around the boarder I easily make myself disappear into the thick brush making my scent disappear along with me. Not even an Alpha can track me if I don’t want them to. I scale a tree and watch as this man passes by my hiding place and I hear a frustrating growl escape his lips. 

The wind shifts and I get a whiff of him and it’s the sweetest thing I have ever smelled first spring rain and honeydew. s**t! I think to myself and I hear Silverclaw purring in my head, “Let him smell us then let’s take off.” Thrilled for a chase I do just that as I leap through the trees and run like my life depends on it. I make it all the way back to my dorm room before I feel a large hand grip my shoulder. I know who it is by the sparks I can feel when he touches my bare skin.

“I finally caught you mate,” he spits, “I don’t like to be played with.” He yanks me forward and captures my lips in a heated frenzy. I know I’m done for. I know I only have one shot at this, so I push him back and glare him down. I know my eyes are glowing with my wolf wanting to surface. 

“And here I thought the big bad Alpha was a scaredy cat,” I sneer and yank my arm away slamming the door in his face. “Damn it Silverclaw, why the hell are you trying to make your presence known?” I growl out. 

“Because he is our mate,” She sneers back at me. I block her into the depths of my mind and get ready for the race. Before I walk out the door, I hear my Alpha through our link, “Skyler, Why the hell is the future Alpha from Riverstone chasing after you? You know you aren’t here for anything less than your mission. Remember this is just training for you. I expect you to be outside in the next minute!” I sigh and don’t respond as I make my way out the window and away from my fuming Alpha. I know he can command me to forfeit the race if I go out the door. I take off to the starting line and prepare myself. I can feel myself being watched as the race starts.

Jordan

                If it weren’t for the fact that Skyler is our main defense, I wouldn’t have let her come to the Elite Wolves Games this week. I sigh as I watch her leave through her window and take off towards the starting line. I cannot afford her to turn into her wolf otherwise our pack’s secret will be out. I head to the stands and am met by my beta TJ. 

“Has there been any word on the King of the Underworld?” I ask. 

TJ is shaking his head but responds, “Sorry, Alpha but I have notices Rogues around the perimeter. Looks like they are going to ambush the race towards the middle of it.” 

“Keep an eye on Skyler and send word to Gamma Joyce,” I say and sit down to watch the events. I know some of you will think I’m a lazy Alpha, but I can’t risk leaving in the middle of the race today to go tend to some rogues sent by the King of the Underworld. I can’t interfere with Skyler’s training. I just hope none of the other packs notice Skyler’s wolf.
