I had collected all the documentation CRA wanted, received the “pre-clearance” and was booked on a flight to Costa Rica for Monday. Ronald had arranged for a private security firm to be at the closing on July 1st which was Friday. They would take custody of the money and deliver it to the San Jose airport when I flew out on the Sunday. I had asked Lopez about the denomination of the bills and he told me it would all be in $100 bills. I had no idea what volume a million dollars would occupy so I tried to figure it out.
