ALAENA’S POV The children of the forest moved silently through the camp, their tiny feet making no sound against the earth. They were shadows among shadows, their glowing eyes glistening like fireflies in the dark. I followed them, my own steps just as quiet as theirs. I could feel Roy’s energy. It was faint, but it was there. I could feel it. I clenched my fists, my new claws pressing lightly against my palms. I released my palms again, they were going to take some getting used to.
