3I wondered why we didn’t take a cab, but Milt was funny that way. He’d splurge without a thought on anything that showed or that he particularly enjoyed, but when he was behind the scenes, he scrimped, often unnecessarily, I thought. That morning, we took the State Street trolley up to the Goldblatt’s store in the downtown shopping district. He lugged a big black sample case full of video lighters. He explained he’d be asking for an order for many more than that, but he wanted them to have enough of an inventory so they could put them on special that day.
