EVELYN'S POV
Loud knocks settled onto the door, drawing me out of whatever thoughts had cramped my head.
I swallowed hard. Tears streaked off my eyes onto my cheeks. I didn't get it. What was I impossibly thinking about? What could have made me this miserable? Why was I crying?
I shifted my gaze back to my phone; it was way past six already. How's this possible? It was almost as if time had gone by without me knowing a thing.
"Evelyn!" The noise came on again, and I wiped off the remnants of tears from my face. My lips were cracked and pale, and my heart wouldn't stop beating hard. I was in a state of shock.
Twice, strange things happened to me, and I had no explanation why it had happened or what led to it.
