  MARIE'S POV   "You ungrateful scoundrel!" I screamed as soon as I bolted the door locked behind us; his lips quivered from fear as he matched his gaze with mine just as he ought to.   "I'm sorry," he whispered. His voice cracked out, the end breaking down as he spoke, making me more furious.   It was hard playing pretend as a mother to him, but who would blame me? He was a good for nothing son of a good for nothing mother. I wanted nothing better than to get rid of the both of them as much as I could as long as I wanted to.
