CHAPTER 2: THE BRUTAL CRYSTAL BLADE

She woke up and looked at her surrounding.. She was in her room.. She remembered passing out in the forest.. “Those villagers must have took me here” she thought..

She tried to sit up but she couldn't because her head was still slightly dizzy and she had a headache.. Kaoru being a stubborn princess, she still forced herself to sit..

“Lay back down.. No need to get up” Kaoru heard the voice of a male said ..

“Albus?” she looked up at her brother who just entered the room..

 Albus grabbed the chair that was placed near her study table and placed it next to the bed.. He fixed his clothes as he sat down on the chair and looked at Kaoru in the eyes and said “Explain everything.. Why are our men missing.”

“When we reached the village we distribu-“ her sentence was cut off when Albus slammed his hand loudly on the table which caused Kaoru to flinch..

“Get. To. The. Point.. What did you saw? How much do you know?” This question caused Kaoru to get puzzled besides Albus have never talked to her in this way before which caused her to get more confused.. 

"How much do I know? What are you talking about brother?"

Albus took a deep breathe and his expressions softened a little bit "Just tell me everything that happened that day, Ok?" 

Kaoru nodded and begin explaining everything to her older brother Albus..

“There was this women we met in the forbidden forest.. She was .. She was the Demon Queen.. She talked to us.. But .. then t-they attacked at us.. They killed the commander.. But I.. I ran away”

Albus looked at her with a worried look.. He said “Look I believe that demons attacked you guys but about that demon queen part.. I don’t believe it.”

“What do you mean you don't believe me? I’m telling you the truth” she said..

Albus just shook his head and head “You know nothing about that beast.. If that lady was really the demon queen, you wouldn’t be alive today.. And  as for those ugly insects..” he clenched his fist "I will  make them regret messing with us"

He got up and was about to leave when Kaoru stopped him and said “What are you going to do” she asked.. She was worried.. She was worried that the there will be bloodshed but she didn’t knew that the bloodshed that have been taking place between the two realms for centuries has never stopped, and it will never ever stop..

“You don’t have to worry about it” and with that he left..

“Why is he not believing me..” she mumbled as she got up and decided to ask different people about The Devil Queen.. 

She tried to talk to a few and tell them that she actually met her but they all refused to believe it.. In the end she had an idea to prove it to all of them.. She ran back to her room and started working for it..

A few days later in the Demonic realm a demon guard came rushing into the castle.. The Queen was sitting on her throne reading a book when the guard came in handed an envelope to Queen’s personal servant.. He checked it and his eyes widen.. He quickly walked to the queen and bowed down in front of her.. He handed her that envelope and walked backwards to stand at his place with his head down..

She was surprised when she read where the envelope was from.. "The Angel Realm?" she mumbled to herself

The Queen got up from her seat.. She opened the envelope and begin to read it..

Hi,

I’ve never actually written any letters.. Its usually my brother, Crown Prince Albus or my father, King Emyr or other people who do that work so.. I don’t know how to start.. This may sounds kind of informal to a Queen compared to other letter you may have received so i apologize in advance..

So, I don’t know why those people killed our people.. Ever since i was young i was told how dangerous demons can be.. But I never knew the answer of why are they dangerous? What do they do?.. I always wanted to learn the answers but sadly, no one's answer ever made sense.. You know what happened a few days ago.. I have never seen someone die like that in my entire life.. I'm not going to lie, it was quite scary.. After the villagers helped me and took me back to the castle, of course all of them asked me what happened so I had to tell them everything.. They believed it.. But they didn’t believed that we actually met the Queen of all the Demons..  I don’t know why.. All of them just said “If what you are saying, was actually true then you wouldn’t be alive by now” .. I don’t know how to convince them that I actually met you and you really saved my life!

I know if they find out that I’m sending this letter, I’ll get punished.. So let's keep it a secret okay?.. I know I’m supposed to be scared of you but I not scared of you.. You saved my life right.. So why would you hurt me..

Princess Kaoru

The Queen was speechless.. She didn’t knew what to say.. But the corner of her lips turned into a small smile without even her knowing.. Her smile wasn’t noticeable because of her hood.. When the guards and the her servants could not get any reaction from the Queen, they started to panic..

“Your majesty.. Is that.. Shall we start preparing for the war?” one of them asked..

“Who gave this to you” She asked without moving her gaze from the letter..

“I-I found it in the forest of Devils.. It was on the ground” the guard said while bowing down his head not daring to look up at her.

Before she could say anything else, another guard came rushing in and fell down on his knees, bowing to their Queen..

“My Queen!! They are here!! They killed our people!!” he said breathlessly.. The Queen looked at him and noticed that he was injured badly..

She put the letter in the pocket of her robe and turned into her real demon form.. The guards did the same.. They opened their black wings and flew out to the place where the fight was taking place..

She saw a man killing a demon brutally by taking out his heart and cutting his head off.. She knew who he was.. Prince Albus.. The Crown Prince.. She landed right in front of him..

He took out a handkerchief wiped the blood off of his hands and threw away the handkerchief while looking in the eyes of the women who was known as The Devil Queen, with a smirk..

Her personal guard that was also in his demon form growled and said “HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT OUR QUEEN”

“Oh so you’re The Famous Devil Queen.” He said..

“Crown Prince Albus.. Isn’t it a quite bold of you? Stepping into My territory and killing my people.. I believe that the Crown Prince is old and wise enough to understand that this move of yours can get you in trouble.. Yet you’re still here.. May I know the reason?” she said with a smile which made her fangs visible..

“I’m the one who is supposed to ask you the reason.. Why did you killed our men and dared to hurt our princess.. Wasn’t that quite bold move of yours as well?” he replied..

The Devil Queen chuckled and said “Once an outsider step into our territory, his or her’s safety can not be guaranteed.. You should be happy instead that the Princess is still alive.. I would’ve done a lot of things to her but I choose to let her go.. Wasn’t that kind enough of me?”

He clenched his fist and shouted “You ugly beast! Don’t you dare try to even think about hurting Princess Kaoru!!”

“Tch Tch Tch..” she looked at her guards and said “What a pity.. Look how immature their crown prince is”

The rage was taking over Albus.. He drew out his sword and ran forward to attack at her but with a swift move she moved away a little and the sword ended up piercing her abdomen.. His eyes lit up with the thought of how people will praise him if they tell them that he alone fought The Devil Queen.. But his smile disappeared when he saw what happened next.

The demon guards were about to step forward to tear the crown prince into pieces but Queen slightly raised her hand to stop them.. Albus looked at her face and saw that her face that once that a smile on was now looking back at him in the eyes, emotionlessly..

“How!! This is not an ordinary sword!! Why is it not working” he thought..

By that, he meant “The Brutal Crystal Sword”, the sword that the only the royals from the angel realm owns.. Demons can be the most dangerous creatures if the rage take over them unless they are in their human form.. Yes Demons and Angels can turn themselves into humans whenever they want.. It takes them over 100 years to learn how to changed themselves into a human form.. Angels have Brutal Crystal Sword to protect themselves but again, it have its own rules and conditions.. 

It is given to the Crown Prince as a gift from Ancestors.. But they are forbidden for them to use on others without the Kings permission.. It have its own rules and conditions.. It is made up of special material.. If a demon even try to touch it their skin will get burned and will not be healed no matter how effective the medicine is.. Even though the demon blood have a special healing effect that can heal the wound in the blink of an eye, no matter how bad the wound is..

Albus was shocked to see that the Demon Queen was unharmed even after getting a wound by The Brutal Crystal Sword.. She just smirked pushed him away with her regular force.. To her it was nothing but to Albus the force was too much that he almost flew and fell backwards.. His back hit the tree that was behind him and begin to cough blood..

“Y stupid young boy..” she took the sword out and the place where the wound was healed in the blink of an eye.. She begin to examine the sword but soon threw it aside.. “The Brutal Crystal Sword.. Don’t you think you should learn a bit more before using an item like this one? If they don’t teach properly there you’re always welcome here.. I’d love to teach the Crown Prince of the angel realm.”

He got up and wiped the blood off of his mouth.. His mind was a mess.. He couldn’t understand what was happening.. He was completely unaware of the strength she have.. He underestimated The Devil Queen.. She motioned her guards to capture all the angel soldiers..

They did what the Queen ordered them to do and captured everyone except for Prince Albus.. Three demons surrounded Albus waiting for the Queen’s order to capture him as well but instead she stopped them..

“We’ll just let him go.. I’m sure that the King, this boy’s father don’t know that he’s paying us a visit.. I wonder how he will react” she laughed “I’m letting you go alive. Take it as a little gift from me”

She turned around and looked at her guards.. As soon as she looked at them, all of them bowed their heads down and waits for their Queen’s order.. She smiled and said “Go escort him out of here.. And make sure no one make the same mistake as he did today.”

She turned back to the Prince and smiled “I’ll take my leave now” she opened her wings and was about to fly away when Albus shouted “YOU’LL REGRET THIS”

She didn’t said anything.. She just smiled and flew back to the castle..

The demon guards tied his hands and took him to the outer part of forest from where he can go back to the angelic realm easily, they untied him and let him go.. He was getting drowned in embarrassment..

“How will I face my people.. How will I face my father.. What will people think of their Crown Prince, The next King.. They will laugh at me..” he kept thinking until he decided to act like he never went there and nothing happened.. He fixed his clothes and his hair and went back to the castle..

As he entered the castle, he saw Kaoru who was pacing back and forth with a worried look on her face.. He went closer and asked her what happened..

“Brother you’re here.. Father’s home.. And he doesn’t seem to be in a good mood.. I don’t know what happened.. He said he wants to see you” she said.. Albus begin to feel nervously as his heart was pounding furiously.. He nodded and proceeded to make his way to the King's chamber..

He knocked on the door and a voice from inside said “Come in”

He put on a fake smile and went inside and saw a tall old man facing the wall..

“Father how was your trip” he asked..

“Why were you not here when I came back.. Where were you?” he asked.. His voice didn’t had any emotions so it was kind of hard for Albus to predict what was going inside his Father’s mind..

He decided to make up an excuse.. “I went to pay a visit to the village by myself.. Last time I had to send Kaoru there because I was busy so I deci-“ he was cut off when the King turned around and slapped him in the face..             

“QUIT LYING! YOU THINK I'M UNAWARE OF THE MESS YOU MADE?” he slammed his fist on the table and continued “You know what, It could’ve killed you! Do you even know who they are. How can you be so immature! Do you even know who you dared to attack on? You didn’t just stab an ordinary demon.. SHE WAS THE DEVIL QUEEN! Do you even know the things she is capable of doing? She can finish an army of 10,000 all by herself in just a minute! And you- You want to know why your sword, the Brutal Crystal Blade didn’t worked on her? Because she is not just an ordinary Demon... During her birth, the late queen took some special and powerful medicines and herbs... Her mother herself was a powerful queen but she died while giving birth to her... So somehow her powers came into her baby, making her the most Powerful Demon ever” he sighed and turned around “We can’t even imagine how powerful she can be yet YOU!” he turned back to him and pointed at him “You foolish little boy.. Ughh! I’m done with you!” he turned around to leave.. but he suddenly stopped and said “You must be wondering who told me all this.. The people who went on that mission with you did.. She let a few of them go, but now they are barely able to walk” and with that he left..

Albus was there holding his cheek, clenching his teeth.. Suddenly he screamed out loudly from all the frustration..  He also walked out and went to his room..

The thing that both of them were unaware of was that there was someone else as well who was listening to their conversation while hiding in a corner..
