Chapter 17

528 Words
After a long discussion which turned into arguments a few times, it was decided that Scott, Peter, Malia, Lydia, Parrish and Chris would accompany Ara to visit her clan. Not only did she need to tell the clan leader about her parent's death but she needed to introduce her mate to them. Wyatt had wanted to go as well but Ara refused. She didn't want to endanger him. He was upset at first but after Melissa spoke to him, he agreed. Ara smiled at Melissa. " What did you say to him?" she asked. Melissa chuckled. " I told him that I needed him here to protect me." She whispered and Ara laughed. They hugged and then Ara went to talk to Roman and Coryn. " Why can't we come with you?" Coryn asked. " If Monroe sends hunters to attack while we are gone, the pack will need your speed and strength to fight them off. " Ara told them. Roman stood taller and nodded. " You can count on us." he said. Ara handed them both a large vial of her blood. " This is for you. I wanted to give you both the choice of drinking it. It will give you the ability to walk in the sun. You might need it if Monroe's people attack during the day." Ara said and went to go pack her things. Ara sighed as she drove towards her clan. It hadn't been that long since she'd seen them but she was unsure how they would be received. She had taken the SUV with Peter, Lydia and Parrish. Scott, Malia and Chris were in the car behind them. Peter eyed her but remained quiet. He could feel her emotions through their mate bond. " Are you nervous?" Parrish asked from the back seat. Ara had just recently met the hell hound and liked him. He was very inquisitive and absorbed all the information she gave him. " A little." She admitted. Parrish nodded and looked out the window. They were deep in the woods on a path that was barely used. Ara found herself wondering if anything changed since she and her parents had left. " We are almost there so be ready for anything." She said softly. Both Parrish and Peter nodded. Lydia texted Malia that they were close and to be ready. " Wow!" Lydia said in awe as they pulled up to a huge Victorian styled mansion. Ara took a deep breath and then got out of the vehicle. " Stay here." She said as a female vampire stepped out the front door. She was tall and willowy with long black hair and deep brown eyes. She wore a long elegant green dress that blended in with the foliage around her. She stopped when she was in front of Ara. She glanced inside the cars and then back at Ara. The woman surprised everyone when she pulled Ara into her arms, hugging her tightly. " Gods Ara, I thought I would never see you again!" she said, tears in her eyes. " Lena, I am glad to see you too." Ara replied hugging her back.
