Chapter 15

     Peter looked at Ara sleeping against his chest. They hadn't left the bed for days. He'd called Melissa to explain what had happened and she had agreed to keep Wyatt with her until the damages could be fixed. Careful not to wake Ara, Peter got out of bed and walked down into the kitchen. he didn't know a lot about vampires but he did know that Ara liked fresh fruit with her rare steak and eggs. Peter whistled while he worked. He didn't remember the last time he'd been this happy. When the food was done, he carried it upstairs and set it on the nightstand. " Ara, pet,, time to wake up." He said as he trailed his fingers over her body. Ara moaned and smiled. Her finger reached up and touched the claiming mark on her neck before pulling Peter down for a passionate kiss. " Good morning mate." She said softly. Her stomach growled as she smelled the food and Peter chuckled. " Come on you need to eat to regain your strength. Liam and Derek will be here soon to help with repairs." he said. Ara groaned but didn't argue. Instead she sat up and began eating the delicious food Peter had prepared for her.

They were taking a break hours later. They had taken care of the bodies and had cleaned the blood and broken glass. Peter was sitting on the couch while Ara fixed everyone a late lunch. Derek sat down beside Peter and looked at him sideways. " I don't think I've seen you this content since we were kids." he said and Peter laughed. " Yeah, I have done so much bad in my life Derek, sometimes I think I'm dreaming and Ara isn't real. That I'm still stuck in the burn unit, mad out of my mind." Peter replied shaking his head. " I'm happy for you Peter." Derek said just as Ara came out with the food. " Thanks Derek." Peter said and they all dug into their food. It took them a couple of weeks to fix everything. They even installed a security system and in that time, a lot had changed. Peter moved in with Ara and Wyatt. Scott returned with more wolves and even a couple of younger vampires. They all stayed in the pack house, that was what the large house had been named by the pack members.
