  CHERYL POV   I stared at the woman as she turned to leave but stopped mid-stride to press a hand to her bulging stomach, her eyes casting a quick hungry look around the shop. Without another word, she exited the shop.   As soon as she left, my eyes fell on the remaining uneaten bagel as a thought went through my mind.   No, don't think about it, Cheryl.   I chewed on my lower lip as I contemplated my chances of the woman giving me the brush off.   "Oh, for f**k's sake," I mumbled as I downed the rest of my coffee and swiped the bagel off the table.
