Chapter 7

Lucy stayed the night beside him at the hospital. She asked the driver to bring her some of the food she kept in the refrigerator in the morning. She prayed that he get well soon. The doctor told you that Elliot was depressed and weak, he needed enough rest. She thanked the doctor paid all the bills and took Elliot home the next day. Elliot woke up feeling some sharp pain in the head. He tried recalling what had happened yesterday and he remembered that he had fallen when he was trying to climb the stairs.

Lucy came in with a bowl of soup and some medicine on the tray. He asked her how he got to his bed. She explained how they came to meet him lying on the floor and they sent him to the hospital for treatment. Lucy told him what the doctor said about depression and that he is weak so he needs enough rest. Lucy fed him some soup and he later took the medicine and lay down on his bed. Lucy told him she was going to do all his job for now until he was fit on his feet to work. He said no he could handle everything but Lucy didn't mind him and went to the kitchen. He fell asleep after Lucy left. Lucy went to school took the test and came back home to check up on him. He was still asleep when she came. Lucy then decided to take a stroll outside for a while to relax. On her way, she met Essel who told her he lived around and was going for practice at the basketball field in the community.

She said okay wished him luck and was about to leave when he asked her where she was heading, she said she was just taking a stroll. He asked her if he could escort her, she thought of it and was about to say no when she remembered it wouldn't be polite if she said that. So she agreed and they talked and walked until she got to her destination. When Lucy was talking to him, Elliot was watching them from his window. They parted ways and she went straight to the kitchen and started preparing the meal. She was about to go and check up on Elliot when he came to the kitchen. He asked her where she was from and she said she went out to take a stroll. Elliot asked her who she was talking to at the gate and she replied that it was Essel that guy whom he warned her off.
