“You want to be surprised?” Arianna asked, leaning back on the bed as the doctor
knocked, announcing herself.
“I think it’ll be good to wait so nothing leaks out,” I told her.
Arianna nodded in agreement.
“Hello, parents to be,” Doctor Joy said.
“Hey, Joy,” Arianna replied.
“Today, we have a routine checkup. Did you two want to know what you’re having?”
Doctor Joy asked.
Both of us shook our heads. Pulling out her chart, she discussed Arianna’s measurements
since the last visit and checked the heartbeat from the ultrasound.
“You’re progressing along well, Arianna. You’re six months today, and both Mommy and
baby are healthy. Continue to take it easy for me and make your next appointment in six weeks,”
Doctor Joy stated.
“She will, Doc,” I told her, rubbing her stomach.
