Chapter 55: Second Chance
(Olivia's POV)
"If I saved you twice as a child," I began hesitantly, "why didn't you contact me for all these years? And then suddenly appear in my life again?"
My words came out jumbled, betraying my nervousness. I twisted my fingers together, feeling my heart race.
Cassius seemed to understand my unspoken question. His eyes reflected the moonlight as he turned to face me fully.
"I only stayed in the Riverdale Outskirts for three years," he explained. "After that, my grandfather's family relocated their military operations. I didn't expect our paths would cross again."
His answer was straightforward, but it only sparked more curiosity within me.
"When did we meet again?" I asked, my eyes widening with interest. "Before the hospital, I mean."
